Dear Friends,
Why Thai government and Thai army don't want to go ICJ, UN Security Council or seeking third party mediator? The answer is very simple because don't want the world knows what they have done to Cambodia, Mass destruction, killings, and civilian displacement etc.
They rejected ICJ, or third party mediator. They keep on insisting on bilateral talks with Cambodia. At the same time, they keeps threatening us and using all tactics to keep us on bilateral talks. We all know it has been 25 years of bilateral talks, but produced no result.
Thailand knows that they can put pressure on Camodia if we can keep on bilateral diolouge. And Cambodia also knows that such mechanism doest not work and it will cause more and become chronical issues for many generations to come.
We, Cambodia, wanted peace and lasting peace and prosperity along the approximately 800km border between the two countries. That why we wanted UN, that why we wanted ICJ, and that why we wanted third party mediator etc. Because we know that the bilateral talks or diolouge will never be able settle our difference.
The dispute between Cambodia and Thailand is like a divorced couple fighting and accusing each other, claiming their own rights etc, such thing needs a court to decide what belongs to whom, then the story comes to an end.
This case is the same, we need third party to meditate and solve problem.
As a Cambodian, I would like to appeal to the world, please help us bring this case to ICJ, that is all we wanted.
