🧱 The ruins of Sarazm, with ancient mudbrick walls and excavated structures.
Did you know? Tajikistan is home to one of the world’s oldest urban centers — Sarazm, dating back over 5,500 years. Archaeologists found evidence of farming, metallurgy, and long-distance trade. Its people cultivated wheat and barley, worked copper, and exchanged goods as far as Mesopotamia and the Indus Valley.👉 Recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site (2010), Sarazm is often called the “cradle of civilization” in Central Asia.
