Riđa Belħaj Ҟlifa (died in November 22, 2019), nicknamed Riđa Deecky, is a Tunisian artist born in the city of Kasr Helal in the state of Monastir. He got the nickname “Deecky” after publishing his cover of the famous children song “Deecky Deecky Anta ṣadiqi”, which he composed and performed in 1978.
Deecky was not limited to colors Eastern or Western music, but rather he mixed them in a creative way that he invented a new genre, matching his texts to other writings, his arrangments to other artists music.
He remained far from official circles of culture, specially from the system of privileges of the governmental programs. Despite this, Riđa Deecky was not a marginalized artist, due to his popularity as a talented underground music producer and singer.
