Wild Bohemia Records proudly presents Nobayashi's debut Ep "The Trial"

Nobayashi embarks on a sonic exploration of Kafka's labyrinthine world, where the individual is ensnared by an opaque and indifferent system. This debut EP delves into the absurdity and despair of confronting an unfathomable bureaucracy, translating Kafka's themes into the realm of Dub Techno.

"The Trial" opens the EP with a relentless rhythm and haunting textures, mirroring Josef K.'s bewildering arrest and the onset of his existential ordeal. The track encapsulates the disorientation and helplessness of facing an incomprehensible authority.

"Miss Schneider" offers a momentary respite, its lighter tones reflecting the fleeting illusions of clarity and connection. This track nods to Orson Welles' 1962 film adaptation of "The Trial", where Romy Schneider plays a supporting role—her presence as spectral and elusive as the hope in Kafka’s narrative.

"The K Case" plunges deeper into the convoluted proceedings, its intricate layers symbolizing the entanglement of logic and absurdity. The track evokes the suffocating atmosphere of a trial where "the proceedings gradually merge into the judgement," leaving no room for understanding or escape.

"Sparks" concludes the EP with a jarring motif reminiscent of an incessant, unsettling telephone ring. This auditory symbol of unending summons encapsulates the perpetual state of anxiety and the elusive nature of resolution in Kafka's universe.

As Kafka poignantly observed, "From a certain point onward there is no longer any turning back. That is the point that must be reached."

Nobayashi's "The Trial" captures this irreversible descent into the absurd, offering a compelling auditory journey through the shadows of modern existence.

On May 22nd, the evening will culminate in a DJ set by Cali Kula & Ogra, turning the theatre into a dancefloor where the audience joins the celebration with Kms as dj special guest. A moment where bodies, beats, and boundaries dissolve.

Cali Kula and Ogra will perform live for two exceptional nights as part of Bal Clandestin, a powerful choreographic piece by Tunisian creators Aïcha M’Barek and Hafiz Dhaou, at the prestigious Maison de la Danse de Lyon on May 21st and 22nd, 2025.

If "Blackout" is music for dancing in the shadows, "Whiteout" is music for chilling in them. "Dawn Dub" captures an intimate, cinematic moment; two lovers lost in the city, or maybe in a dimly lit apartment, wrapped in the echoes of the night. "Whiteout" and "Sub World" drift into a hypnotic Dub Techno haze, softened by acid-tinged undertones, dissolving time into sound.

And then, there's "The Day After", that melancholic haze where you wonder if the night even happened at all. A loop of forgotten details, lost forever.

Cali Kula's Blackout Ep release day.

You've heard these tracks before, somewhere in the haze of a club night, buried in the pulse of the music...but you don't quite remember.

It all begins with a fox, rummaging through a trash can on the dimly lit streets of Berlin, just outside a club. That's the last image the dancer recalls before the blackout, that moment of surrender, when the music pulls you under, and the night spirals into something unexpected.

"Blackout" is the sound of that descent: A minimal techno pulse with an industrial edge, where shifting modulations distort reality and the afterparty unfolds in the early morning glow. "Deep Abyss" plunges further, submerging you in Dub Techno's swirling depths, where textures stretch and

percussions flicker like distant echoes. Then, slowly, you rise back up, the energy flips, sliding effortlessly into the Micro House rhythm of "Pill Bull". The night is far from over. The groove carries on into "Flip Flops", a Minimal House heartbeat, the party's last dance… or is it ? No one really wants to sleep.

If "Blackout" is music for dancing in the shadows, "Whiteout" is music for chilling in them.
