A Tsunami Alert is now in force for all of Tonga, issued by the National Tsunami Warning Centre at 3:25 pm this evening. Tsunami evacuation sirens are sounding in Nuku'alofa. Tonga Meteorological Service estimates the threat from a tsunami wave to Tonga's northern coastlines starts from about 10pm tonight and Nuku'alofa at about 11pm. A powerful 8.8-magnitude earthquake struck off Russia’s Far Eastern Kamchatka Peninsula on Wednesday, triggering tsunami warnings and evacuation alerts across the Pacific region. An arsonist, Taniela Matangi (38) will serve seven years imprisonment, for serious housebreaking and stealing tapa and mats from a church minister's home in Longolongo.
