Easter pt. 1 🤍

Today we sit in the tension of the story, the sorrow, the sacrifice, the weight of the cross. Good Friday reminds us that love is not always comfortable, sometimes it looks like surrender, sometimes it looks like suffering, and sometimes it looks like silence. 🫏

Jesus knew the pain that was coming and chose the cross anyway. For every sin, every mistake, every doubt, and for every one of us, He willingly yielded up His spirit. Death did not defeat Him — He willingly gave His life. (Matthew 27:50, Mark 15:37, Luke 23:46, John 19:30) ✝️

Nothing is too messy, too broken, or too far gone for His grace.👏

The song “Garden” by NEEDTOBREATHE reflects the quiet surrender of Gethsemane the moment Jesus prayed in deep anguish, yet still chose obedience. Whether in life or death, His life glorified the Father (Philippians 1:20–21). Before the cross, there was a garden, a place of wrestling, trust, and willing sacrifice. 🌿

It’s okay if today feels heavy; it should. But the story isn’t over yet. Sunday is coming!🌅

“For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son…” — John 3:16

For further scripture reading today, we recommend John 19:1–16. Christ Covenant Church has a great overview discussion of this scripture. Check it out! ➡️ https://open.spotify.com/episode/6yLXfog8PpRxsbELOmIxhY?si=m1yrWGmnQHiJFq-LDo-C2

Episode 12: Part Two is LIVE 🫶🏼

This episode = theology, but make it chaotic 🤩

We talked about:
What “God-breathed” actually means
Why context in Scripture matters (a lot)
The beauty of real, vulnerable stories in the Bible

AND ALSO:
What inanimate object we’d eat if we could???
Words that would be cute names if they didn’t mean what they mean??

It’s deep, it’s random, it’s very us.

If you loved Part One, this is the perfect continuation 💌

Episode 11: Part One is LIVE 🫶🏼

This one is… all over the place in the best way.
Deep talk, awkward talk, funny talk, and a very special guest 🐶

We talked about:
“I’m fine… but I’m not”
Recovery when it doesn’t feel inspiring anymore
Learning to believe you deserve healing
Seeing your story through your parents’ eyes (🥲)
Singleness, dating, not idolizing marriage, & being content in the now.

Also… progress = something you usually only see in hindsight 💡

This episode felt like real life. No script. No perfect answers. Just showing up.

Midterms week hit our Un-Fun Friends crew hard, so we’re pausing on new episodes this week. 📚✨

But we didn’t want to stay silent — especially after National Eating Disorder Awareness Week.

Ella shared something deeply personal on her blog: a raw reflection on what it actually feels like to live in recovery — the exhaustion, the tension between faith and healing, the questions that don’t always have easy answers, and the quiet, daily courage it takes to keep choosing life. You can find the link in her bio or ours too!

If you or someone you love is in this fight, this one is for you. 🤍

Better late than never (cause NEDA was last week) — and always worth talking about.

Valentine’s Day didn’t start with candy hearts and rom-com expectations. It started with sacrifice.✝️

In Part 1 of our Valentine’s special, we talk about the history of St. Valentine, how culture reshaped love into performance and pressure, and how God redefines love, marriage, and singleness entirely.❤️

What if love isn’t about being chosen…
but about remembering you already were?

We live in a culture that glorifies busyness and confuses productivity with worth. But what if burnout isn’t a badge of honor… what if it’s a sign we’re working without abiding?
Episode 5 (Part 1) is all about striving vs. abiding, and how to approach our work, schedules, and lives from a place of grace instead of exhaustion. 💛

Body image didn’t start with Instagram, but healing doesn’t either. We’ve spent years letting culture define how we see our bodies; it’s time to reclaim our thoughts and let truth reshape them. (Romans 12:2)✨

In Part 2 of our body image series, we’re turning to Scripture to ask a better question: What does God say about our bodies? Let’s open the Bible and let God reframe the conversation. 🙏🏻

When culture tells us our bodies are problems to fix, the Bible reminds us they are gifts, temples, and reflections of His image.🩵

🎙️ Episode 4 of The Un-Fun Friends Podcast is out now!

We were especially impacted by the Call Her Holy podcast, where they beautifully discussed a biblical take on why we hate our bodies.
