الأَسْمَاءُ المَعْرَّفَةُ و الأَسْمَاءُ النَّكِرَةُ — Definite and Indefinite Nouns

In Arabic, nouns can be definite (specific) or indefinite (general or unknown).

✅ Definite Nouns (الأَسْمَاءُ المَعْرَّفَةُ):
A noun is definite when it is specific. Usually, it starts with الـ (al-), which means “the” in English.

Examples:

الكِتَابُ — the book

الطَّالِبُ — the student

المَدْرَسَةُ — the school

✅ Indefinite Nouns (الأَسْمَاءُ النَّكِرَةُ):
A noun is indefinite when it is general or unknown. It does not have الـ.

Examples:

كِتَابٌ — a book

طَالِبٌ — a student

مَدْرَسَةٌ — a school

Definite nouns → specific / known

Indefinite nouns → general / unknown
