Federal authorities have arrested two Minnesota residents accused of orchestrating a massive $21 million Medicaid fraud operation that allegedly targeted taxpayer-funded healthcare programs.
According to officials, the scheme began during the COVID-19 pandemic and continued for nearly four years. The suspects are facing multiple federal charges, including conspiracy to commit healthcare fraud, several counts of healthcare fraud, and money laundering.
Acting Assistant Secretary Lauren Bis said investigators are continuing to crack down on large-scale fraud cases in Minnesota, stressing that authorities are focused on protecting public funds and holding those responsible accountable.
