New era for Turkish textile industry: IRIS system goes live

The new “Implementation Circular on Textile Facilities”, prepared by the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change to enhance environmental performance in the textile sector, was approved and entered into force as of August 6, 2026.

The new regulation aims to enable more effective monitoring of air emissions, water consumption, and waste management processes.

According to a statement from the Ministry, IRIS will operate as a digital platform designed to assess and manage industrial air pollution.

Türk tekstil sektöründe yeni dönem: İRİS sistemi hayata geçiyor

Çevre, Şehircilik ve İklim Değişikliği Bakanlığı tarafından tekstil sektöründe çevresel performansın artırılması amacıyla hazırlanan yeni “Tekstil Tesisleri Hakkında Uygulama Genelgesi” 6 Ağustos 2026 tarihi itibarıyla onaylayarak yürürlüğe girdi.

Yeni düzenleme ile hava emisyonlarının, su kullanımının ve atık yönetimi süreçlerinin daha etkin bir şekilde takip edilmesi hedefleniyor.

Bakanlıktan yapılan açıklamaya göre İRİS, sanayi kaynaklı hava kirliliğinin değerlendirilmesi ve yönetilmesi amacıyla geliştirilen dijital bir platform olarak faaliyet gösterecek.

Leading industry stakeholders come together for PFAS-free finishing solutions

A global platform Fashion for Good has announced the launch of Project DW(O)R-X, a collaborative initiative designed to benchmark PFAS alternative durable water- and oil-repellent (DW(O)R) chemistries.

📌 The project aims to generate reliable, comparable data that can support informed sourcing decisions and the assessment of emerging chemistries.

📌 The initiative brings together leading brands adidas and C&A, manufacturing partners Shahi Exports, Paradise Textiles, Positive Materials and Wujiang Fuhua Fabric Co., alongside technology providers Archroma, Daikin Chemicals Europe, Dow, Dryfiber, Jintex, Lamoral Coatings, Pulcra Chemicals, Rudolf and vandeyk.tech. Performance testing will be conducted by SGS.

PFAS’sız apre çözümleri için önde gelen sektör paydaşları bir araya geldi

Fashion for Good küresel platformu, PFAS alternatifi, dayanıklı, su ve yağ itici (DW(O)R) kimyasalları karşılaştırmalı değerlendirmeyi amaçlayan iş birliği odaklı bir girişim olan Project DW(O)R-X’in başlatıldığını duyurdu.

📌 Proje, bilinçli tedarik kararlarını ve yeni nesil kimyasal çözümlerin değerlendirilmesini destekleyebilecek güvenilir ve karşılaştırılabilir veriler üretmeyi hedefliyor.

E-tekstillerin yükselişi e-atık riskini gündeme taşıyor

Sensörler, iletken iplikler, bataryalar ve mikroçiplerle donatılan e-tekstiller, sağlık takibinden spor performansına, iş güvenliğinden askeri uygulamalara kadar birçok alanda yeni kullanım olanakları sunuyor.

Ancak araştırmacılar, bu ürünlerin yaygınlaşmasının atık yönetimi ve geri dönüşüm açısından yeni zorluklar yaratabileceğine dikkat çekiyor.

Digital Product Passport Registry goes live, textile sector looks to Q4 2027

📌 On July 20, the European Commission announced the launch of the Digital Product Passport Registry. With this step, the registration infrastructure for Digital Product Passports to be implemented across different product groups in the future has been put into operation.

📌 However, the Digital Product Passport application has not yet started for the textile and apparel sectors. According to the roadmap published by the European Commission, the delegated act for the textile sector is planned to be adopted in the fourth quarter of 2027.

Dijital Ürün Pasaportu Kayıt Sistemi devrede, tekstilde gözler 2027’nin son çeyreğinde

📌 Avrupa Komisyonu, 20 Temmuz’da Dijital Ürün Pasaportu Kayıt Sistemi’ni (Digital Product Passport Registry) devreye aldığını açıkladı. Böylece gelecekte farklı ürün gruplarında uygulanacak Dijital Ürün Pasaportları için kayıt altyapısı devreye alınmış oldu.

📌 Bununla birlikte tekstil ve hazır giyim sektörü için Dijital Ürün Pasaportu uygulaması henüz başlamış değil. Avrupa Komisyonu’nun yayımladığı yol haritasına göre, tekstil sektörüne yönelik yetki devri düzenlemesinin 2027’nin son çeyreğinde kabul edilmesi planlanıyor.
