If I could give my younger self one piece of advice, it would be this:

If you have the means to travel, I urge you to go.

And I don’t mean you need to book a flight across the world.

Leave your hometown.
Take the road you’ve never taken.
Visit the place you’ve always been curious about.
Spend a weekend somewhere unfamiliar.
Say yes to the opportunity that takes you outside of what you know.

Because travel, in whatever form it takes, changes you.

It expands your perspective. It challenges the things you thought were normal. It introduces you to different ways of living, thinking, loving and dreaming.

It pushes you past your limits and, along the way, you realize that the limits you thought you had were never really limits at all.

Travel has given me courage.

It has made me more curious, more independent, more open. It has taught me that there isn’t one right way to build a life.

And perhaps most importantly, it has shown me how big life actually is.

So leave when you need to leave.

Leave your hometown.
Leave your comfort zone.
Leave the version of yourself that has become too familiar.

Chase the dream. Take the trip. Get on the train. Book the flight. Go somewhere that reminds you there is more.

There is so much life beyond the life you already know.

Go see it.
