Biolistics is a Technique to Insert DNA into Cells.

Biolistic refers to a gene gun or a particle delivery system, designed for delivering exogenous DNA (transgenes) to cells. The DNA is mixed with small metal particles – usually tungsten or gold – a fraction of a micrometre across. These are then fired into a cell at very high speed. They puncture the cell and carry the DNA into the cell. Biolistics has an advantage over transfection, transduction, etc., because it can be applied to any cell, or indeed to parts of a cell. Thus use of biolistics has inserted DNA into animal, plant and fungal cells, and into mitochondria inside cells. Gene guns are so far mostly used with plant cells. However, there is much potential use in humans and other animals as well.

Chylomicron is the Microscopic Particle of Fat Present in the Blood

Chylomicron is the form in which fat is transported from the gut to the rest of the body. It is relatively large droplets that may contain triglycerides, phospholipids, and cholesterol in association with proteins; synthesized and released by intestinal cells and transported to the venous blood via the lymphatic system. Chylomicrons are around 100 nm across and are formed in the intestinal mucosa, from where they enter the lacteals and eventually the bloodstream. Chylomicrons are produced by the epithelial cells of intestinal villi after long chain fatty acids and monoglycerides have diffused across the microvilli. They form chyle within the lacteals.
