SOMETHING IN THE WAY is a special issue published by Eyescape Magazine, based on free submissions received from all over the world in response to a specific open call.

The theme title was announced well in advance without explanation, with the aim of encouraging personal interpretation.

Reflecting the same artistic process that underpins all of our visual curation activities, the selected images have been interconnected to create a kind of metaphorical journey in which we can see ourselves.

CONTRIBUTORS: Dom Ashton - Lucas Campo - Alessandro Casile - Patrick Dunaway - Nathanaël Fournier - Masami Hoshino - Jar - Sabine Kranich - Anne-Sophie Landou - Barry O’Connor - Justina Solnica - Christopher Stepanian - Hélène Thiennot

Extra Project: “Something in the Way – The Contributors Playlist”
We asked our selected contributors to suggest a song that perfectly represents the theme for them. The result is our first playlist: a genuine and intriguing mix of genres and musical eras merged into a shared path of meaning.

Extra project: “The CONNECTIONS Mixtape”

We asked the musicians who decided to join this project to connect one of their own songs to a previous track composed by another musician.

This process has created a sort of “chain”, born from the personal choices made by each musician, and it connects the work of very different producers, searching for a conceptual connection that is more or less perceivable.

You can listen to it on through the link in bio!
