Naparima College student wins 2024 President’s Medal for CSEC
Naparima College is celebrating one of its brightest stars, Reginald Mohammed, who has been awarded the 2024 President’s Medal for CSEC, the highest honour for academic excellence in Trinidad and Tobago.
The award is presented annually to the most outstanding student in the CSEC examinations, and Reginald’s remarkable achievements both in and out of the classroom made him a clear standout.
Currently preparing to enter Upper Six, Reginald has also been unanimously selected as Head Prefect for the 2025/2026 academic year, a role that reflects the deep admiration and respect he commands among students and staff for his humility and positive leadership.
Academic and Extracurricular Excellence
Reginald, often called a “Maths Whizz,” represented Trinidad and Tobago at the 2024 National Youth Science Camp in West Virginia, a prestigious STEM programme hosted by the U.S. Embassy and NIHERST.
His record of achievement includes:
First place in the Rotary Club Peace Day Competition among Lower Six students.
First place in the HOMEE Secondary Schools Photography and Essay Competition for Forms Five and Six.
A Bronze Award in the Duke of Edinburgh International Award.
Multiple Certificates of Distinction in regional and international Mathematics Olympiads.
Beyond academics, he is an active member of the school’s Science Club, Literary and Debating Society, IT Club, and Indian Cultural Club, embodying the qualities of a well-rounded student leader.
National Recognition
The President’s Medal recognises not only outstanding academic performance but also leadership and contributions to national life. Reginald’s achievements in STEM, the arts, and civic engagement reflect the spirit of the award.
He will be honoured at a special ceremony at Naparima College in the coming days, where his success will be celebrated by peers, teachers, and the wider community.

In a statement, Naparima College expressed pride in Reginald’s accomplishments:
“We are pleased and proud to announce that our student, Reginald Mohammed, has been awarded the 2024 President's Medal for CSEC. Congratulations, Reginald—we are all so very proud of you!”
