The GT Challenge de las Américas – Barbados Edition🏁

For motorsport fans across the Caribbean, it was a real treat to witness this level of circuit racing in the region at Bushy Park Barbados.

The event also brought three-time Lamborghini Super Trofeo North America Champion Danny Formal to the Caribbean. The Costa Rican driver not only secured pole position for Sunday’s race, but also set a new track record with a blistering 56.64-second lap.

Representing Team Guyana, Will Redford also delivered an outstanding performance behind the wheel of the Mercedes-Benz AMG GT, earning a place on the podium. Joining him was the Trinidad & Tobago pairing of F. Zachary Boodram and Kristian Boodoosingh of Team Speedway, who proudly represented the twin-island nation.

All in all, it was a fantastic weekend of racing and a welcome showcase of the talent, machinery and passion.

Race day has arrived at Bushy Park Barbados. 🏁

We’ve reached the final day of the GT Challenge de las Américas.

Last night delivered an exciting qualifying session, with Danny Formal securing pole position in his Lamborghini GT3 Evo 2.

Flying the Trinidad & Tobago flag, Team Speedway, with Zachary Boodram and Kristian Boodoosingh, will start from P4 in their Lamborghini GT3 Evo 2, putting the local team firmly in contention as the lights go out.

As practice sessions near their end for the GT Challenge de las Américas at Bushy Park, Barbados, drivers and teams continue to settle into the new circuit while fine-tuning their setups.

With qualifying up next, all eyes will be on how the GT grid takes shape ahead of Sunday’s racing action.

With Barbados set to host the GT Challenge de las Américas for the first time, excitement is building around the paddock as teams get their first taste of the Bushy Park Circuit.

While the GT cars headline this weekend’s action, the August 29–30 event will also feature a packed lineup of racing categories, including the Mazda Caribbean Spec Miata Series, alongside much more.

With Thursday’s free practice sessions now completed, attention turns to Friday. Teams will continue to fine-tune their setups, study the circuit and develop their strategies ahead of a full attack on race weekend.

TTPBA Great Race 2026 certainly delivered one of the most challenging and unpredictable editions.

Rough sea conditions tested both man and machine, with several teams forced to retire before reaching the finish. Others, however, overcame the demanding conditions.

Mobil Tyrant secured victory in the 95mph class, while Track Heatwave claimed top honours in the 80mph class after rival Shell Outlaw was unfortunately forced to retire and required a tow to shore.

Mr. Solo came heartbreakingly close to completing the course, stopping just short of the circuit at Store Bay, while Ironman was another notable casualty.

A special mention must go to Hammer Time. After months of rebuilding and preparation, the team successfully returned to competition, turning their "Zero to Hero" journey into one of the most interesting stories of this year's event.

After months of late nights in the shed, countless cold beverages, and plenty of "ole talk," the crew behind the project can finally celebrate the moment they've been working toward.
