The Caribbean Spec Miata Series made a surprise appearance at the TTERA Endurance event.
A warm welcome was in order for a new face on the grid, none other than the popular and talented Justin Sanguinette, who stepped into car #33, usually piloted by Christian Hospedales.
Race 1 saw Liam Bartlett take the top step, followed closely by David Coelho in P2 and Ryan Peyrau in P3. Ryan was standing in for Ross Viera and made himself quite at home in Viera’s Miata.
Race 2 dialed things up. Ryan Peyrau charged like a bat out of hell, snatching P1 with the fastest lap, of a 47.478. Scott Sheppard followed in P2, with Justin Wortman taking P3. As for John-Michael Sabga… let’s just say he experimented with some unplanned drifting.
The day wrapped up with Race 3, where Liam Bartlett once again rose to the occasion, clinching another P1 finish, this time, complete with celebratory donuts. Behind him, David Coelho and Justin Wortman locked into a tight battle for second, with Coelho ultimately coming out on top.
Sadly, Race 3 wasn’t as kind to Ryan Peyrau, whose pace came to a halt due to technical issues that forced a DNF. Adam Pinheiro continues to hover near podium territory, there’s definitely some fire in him. And Justin Sanguinette? He looked right at home behind the wheel. We’d love to see more of that Miata magic from him in the near future.
Team Sheppard held it down, but we do miss Shane’s flair, no style points this time around, haha. And once again, Brandon Singh ended his day in the tyre barrier.
