Hi there! I'm sorry for being MIA for so long, I visited Tokyo for a few days so I'm back home in Nagasaki now. Let's get into TTRW2025!
1) Rango at C3
I really do love their menu this year, the price is very reasonable for a three course and an alcoholic (even non alco for those who dont) drink. I especially love the vegetarian option as it is an unique option to have!
2) chemiscream
I've always wanted to visit here and now you can with this option! They have a brunch special for two persons which is $375! Two meals, two drinks and dessert to share. It isnt bad if you like that set menu but I believe it may be cheaper outside of restaurant week too. I could be wrong though.
3) Himchuli restaurant
I love a good buffet like anyone else and I love when restaurants consider families who would love to try TTRW. That $475 deal that feeds four persons is a game changer. I've had friends who visited and love their food (most are vegetarian) so its a spot worth visiting!
4) Fuego
I've tried their tacos last year via an event I went with shally and it was incredible! I've barely heard any bad complaints and I know the bartenders there know how to make proper cocktails 🍸 😎 the prices aren't bad considering they're EXTREMELY expensive outside of restaurant week, so to get three courses, a drink and complimentary guacamole and chips to share? Im jealous i cant visit 😫
5) sear
yes yes YES! I've reviewed them recently and they are EXPANSIVE so when I saw this menu, it reminded me why I love TTRW. Having accessibility to fine dining is always elite and if is one time to try here is then. One thing though, I hope their staff is beefed up for the influx and the wait time isn't ridiculous. Stay brave.
Now for the places that I wouldn't have the ability to fully recommend with a clear conscience:
1) the exchange
Their menu is three course with a drink for $475 which is hefty but it is a hotel and reeks of exquisite energy. Their menu looks great and i love that they're halal with their meats. (Well most cause i saw pork as one of their entrees). Only reason why I may not recommend here is that I've heard from most of my foodie friends that they enjoy the drinks more than the food. Im not sure if they have a new chef however, maybe someone can confirm for me if they went recently?
2) lush restaurant
Now I never had a bad experience personally with lush and I do love their food everytime I visit. But I can't recommend them cause their service quality tends to fluctuate depending on the amount of people visiting and the servers present. Their menu this year is decent for $275 but their prices are usually great even outside of restaurant week.
3) trader jacks
The menus doesn't look bad at all! I love places that gives two options. However I can't recommend here for the same reason I can't recommend lush. The inconsistency tied to them (food quality, customer service, drinks) even out of restaurant week is a bit much to. However if you do want to take thr risk, do the $175menu.
4) mamma Mia
This one hurts to write cause I love here! However their menu looks very ... small which i mean, we do love an intimate menu? But i know they could've at least give more selections besides chicken, shrimp or vegetarian. Not to mention there is no drink. Try them outside of restaurant week, especially their pastas, pizzas or desserts. They're mindblowing!
5) Elysium ...
6) Zanzibar
Again, same reason as lush and trader jacks. Although I know they recently revamped themselves so maybe their service and food quality has improved since? If you're willing to still visit, do the lunch menu.
Now like I've said before, a lot of restaurants do have excellent food but they may not be properly ready to handle the influx of customers visiting their establishment. Mistakes can be made and challenges can happen. Rest assured, im sure you'll have a fantastic time wherever you decide to go!
Next post will be tomorrow. Stay safe and Happy Early Republic Day to you!
