What happens when beauty, brains, and heritage collide? At just 17 years old, Miss Chanique Marcelin, our Miss Tobago representative for Miss World Trinidad and Tobago, stepped into our 200-year-old Georgian masterpiece and left in absolute awe.

From the grand staircases to the whispers of history etched into every stone, she soaked it all in. She marveled at the elegant architecture, uncovered Tobago’s story woven through centuries, and even dived into the rules and functions of the Assembly Legislature. It was more than a tour; it was an immersive journey through time.

Her visit on August 27 proved one thing: there’s no better way to embody Miss Tobago than to experience Tobago’s heart and history right here at The People’s House.

The Tea Room was alive with laughter, focus, and lightbulb moments as our secondary school students immersed themselves in Thriving Minds: Empowering our Secondary School Students Workshop, hosted in collaboration with Befitment.

Through interactive exercises and eye-opening discussions, students ages 11 to 17 explored how to build a growth mindset, set meaningful goals, manage stress, and strengthen emotional intelligence. Monday 25 August became more than just a date; it became a milestone of empowerment, where young voices gained the tools to thrive both in and out of the classroom.

With every activity, you could almost feel the energy shift, confidence growing, resilience building, and futures shining a little brighter.

Here’s to shaping tomorrow’s leaders today! ✌️✌️✌️

The hospitality at the Parliament of Trinidad and Tobago was outstanding.

Thank you for hosting the Assembly Legislature Primary Plenary delegation led by Madam Presiding Officer, Ms Abby Taylor. We enjoyed every moment.

The primary school debaters were accompanied by their parents in the inaugural Domestic Study Tour on the Westminster System of Government.

All the way from Trinidad, these bright young minds stepped into the Big Ole House for the tour of a lifetime. They didn’t just hear about Tobago’s legislative history, they lived it—touching the limestone walls, sitting in the Chamber 🏛️where debates unfold, and imagining what it feels like to lead, to serve, and to make decisions that shape a nation. 👩‍⚖️🧑‍⚖️

The Malabar Police Youth Club came, engaged, educated, and yes, they conquered our 200-year-old Assembly Building on August 15, 2025.

They left with eyes wide, minds full, and hearts inspired. ❤️
