Taylor Swift has a long history of leaving Easter eggs for her fans, and the past several months have been no exception. From color-coded moments on stage to cryptic social media activity, Swifties have long suspected that the singer’s 12th studio album, nicknamed “TS12” online, was on the way.

Swift revealed that the new album is called The Life of a Showgirl. The news broke in a clip shared by Travis and Jason Kelce’s New Heights podcast. The album drops on October 3. Pre-orders are now available on Swift’s website.

Trinidadian soca star Yung Bredda earned a major breakthrough with his far-reaching Full Blown-produced smash, “The Greatest Bend Over,” and he’s now tapped Grammy-nominated singer-producer Chlöe and “Shake It to the Max” star Moliy for a new globe-trotting remix.

Out Friday (Aug. 15) via 0207 Def Jam and Polydor Label Group, the new remix finds both Chlöe and Moliy delivering sultry new verses across Full Blown’s “Big Links” riddim, as well as some flashy ad-libs and vocal stacks to complement the zess-infused soca production. Dropping just in time for Notting Hill Carnival (Aug. 23-25), the new remix arrives alongside a new music video that captures the beauty and spirit of carnival celebrations across the diaspora, including St. Lucia’s Carnival, which Chlöe attended in July.

K-pop band BTS have denied reports they are due to appear on a Michael Jackson tribute album.

The group were also said to be in line to record an unreleased track written by the singer at an Irish recording studio during a stay in the country in 2006.

Some fan accounts linked the Korean act to a report in The Sun that originally said the group were among “superstar artists” due to make new versions for the album before the claim was removed.

In a message on X, BTS posted a message stating that the idols had not been “in any recording sessions at the location mentioned” and that the group was not “involved in the tribute album in any capacity”.

Two California-based songwriters who contributed to Tyla’s breakout hit, Water, have filed a lawsuit against the singer and producer Sammy Soso (real name Samuel Awuku), citing unpaid royalties and lack of proper credit.

The legal action comes as Tyla released two new singles this week: Dynamite featuring Wizkid, and Mr. Media.

The plaintiffs, Olmo Zucca and Jackson Paul LoMastro, are also suing Sony Music Entertainment. In court documents filed on July 25, the duo claim that Awuku excluded them from top-line production credits and misrepresented himself as the sole producer of Water, a song that helped catapult Tyla onto the global stage.

According to the suit, Water has generated more than $10 million in revenue since its release and could ultimately exceed $50 million as it continues to stream and sell globally. The song peaked at No. 7 on the Billboard Hot 100 and remained on the charts for 29 weeks.

Zucca and LoMastro argue that the omission of credit has not only affected their earnings, but also damaged their reputations and hindered professional opportunities.

Ariana Grande has been booked and busy, but making clear that music is still a priority.

The superstar assured fans of such on Instagram Wednesday (July 16), writing: “very silly of you all to assume that just because i have my hands full with many things that i plan to abandon singing & music … !!! it is and has always been my lifeline. Finding a balance, between many projects and endeavors i love, and doing it my own way… so i’m working on a plan to sing for you all next year. even if it’s just for a little.”

While it’s unclear what her “plan to sing” for fans next year might entail, it seems that “brighter days” are indeed ahead with this to look forward to.

Pharrell Williams, the multihyphenate musician, actor and current men’s creative director of Louis Vuitton, has been named a Knight of the Legion of Honor, France’s highest civilian recognition.

The announcement was made in France’s official journal ahead of the country’s national Bastille Day celebrations. The list published Sunday morning recognized 589 individuals for their dedication to public and cultural service.

The American performer has evolved into a global fashion force since taking the reins at Louis Vuitton in 2023, where he has redefined the brand’s menswear by blending streetwear, luxury, entertainment and celebrity power.

Justin Bieber is about to drop a new album, The Hollywood Reporter has learned. Def Jam will release his long-awaited seventh album on Friday, July 11, sources reveal.

As THR reported, Bieber headed to Iceland in late April to put finishing touches on the project, his first since 2021’s Justice. His Nordic getaway hosted jam sessions and allowed the pop superstar to ”vibe out” with a number of musical collaborators, an insider reveals.

As of Thursday, a billboard in Iceland that depicts Bieber with the word “Swag” is starting to go viral online. Presumably, that could be the name of the album though it’s unclear at press time. The same billboard went up in Los Angeles on Thursday.

Taylor Swift recently spent thousands of dollars on a sentimental item from her Eras Tour.

The “Cruel Summer” sensation purchased a 140-foot-long inflatable friendship bracelet that was draped over the New Orleans’ Caesars Superdome during a three-date run of Eras Tour shows in October 2024.

Swift plans to secure the gigantic friendship bracelet, which reads “Taylor Swift The Eras Tour”, later this week after the sale is approved by the Louisiana Stadium and Exposition District.

And it only cost her $13,000!

Friendship bracelets played a massive role in the record-breaking tour, inspired by the star’s Midnights track, “You’re On Your Own Kid,” in which she sings about making friendship bracelets. Swifties across the globe took it upon themselves to create, distribute, and swap friendship bracelets at every Eras Tour show, and Swift took it upon herself to memorialize the idea in a giant inflatable bracelet that she now owns!
