People often say, โ€œSana all!โ€ or โ€œAng swerte mo naman!โ€ or โ€œButi ka pa.โ€ I smile when I hear those words, but I know deep down~ it wasnโ€™t luck at all. It was pure effort, persistence, and above all~ Godโ€™s perfect timing that finally helped me land a teaching job abroad.

Like many others chasing the same dream, I went through the long and tiring process. I submitted countless curriculum vitaes, prepared teaching demos, and filmed multiple introduction videos, hoping that one of them would be the key. I scrolled through websites like TEAST and TEALIT, searching day and night for schools that were hiring. Each time I hit โ€œsend,โ€ I carried both hope and fear~ wondering if this time I would be noticed.

I waited patiently, refreshing my inbox to see if programs like TFETP or Teach Taiwan would finally reach out. But the waiting stretched longer than I imagined. I didnโ€™t stop there. I sent applications to schools in Vietnam too, determined to keep going no matter how many times I faced silence.

So when people say โ€œswerte,โ€ I remember all the silent struggles that no one else saw~ the uncertainty, the rejections, the days when it felt impossible. And yet, I also remember the perseverance that kept me going.

So to those still in the middle of their journey: keep pushing. What seems like luck to others will one day be your story of persistence. โœจ๐Ÿคžโœˆ๏ธ๐ŸŒ๐Ÿƒ

This was the line that caught my attention while checking my email back in ๐Ÿ๐ŸŽ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ‘. At first, it felt like just another โ€œwhat ifโ€ in my life. But God has His own way of moving things into place~ the impossible suddenly became possible.

It was my very first time riding on a plane.โœˆ๏ธThe feeling? A mix of excitement and nervousness, as though a new world was opening right before my eyes. My heart raced, not just from the thought of flying, but from the realization that I was finally stepping into a journey I had only dreamed of.

Living in a foreign land is both overwhelming and humbling. I experienced the challenges of processing my documents in a language I could barely understand, yet I pushed myself to communicate and learn. I found myself riding buses, unsure if I would reach the right destination. I went grocery shopping with a mix of curiosity and confusion, and even the simple task of paying bills felt like a test of courage and patience.

But through it all, I kept going. Each small victory became proof that I could stand on my own. And now, this woman fears nothing anymore. ๐Ÿ’ชโœจ

During my first year as an OFW, loneliness was my constant companion. The excitement of working abroad was there, but so was the silence that greeted me after every long day. I missed home, I missed family, and I missed the simple comfort of having someone to share my everyday stories with.

Thatโ€™s why on my second year, I decided to bring my husband with me. Life abroad suddenly became lighter, warmer, and more meaningful. The struggles are still here, but facing them together makes all the difference.

Iโ€™m also grateful to ๐—ง๐—™๐—˜๐—ง๐—ฃ, because I was able to bring my husband with me without worrying about the accommodation and airfare. That support has been a huge blessing, making our journey abroad a little easier and a lot brighter.

To all OFWs who are working far away from their loved ones: your sacrifice is seen, your strength is admired, and your love for your family is immeasurable. Someday, all this hard work will bloom into something beautiful for you and your loved ones.๐ŸŒธ๐Ÿฅ€

From the classrooms in the Philippines ๐Ÿ‡ต๐Ÿ‡ญ to the skies leading me to a foreign land ๐Ÿ‡น๐Ÿ‡ผ, this journey feels like both a blink of an eye and a lifetime of work.

I spent three years teaching in the Philippines, learning, growing, and shaping my identity as an educator. Those years werenโ€™t just about lessons and exams~ they were about patience, resilience, and finding joy in small victories.

Now, I find myself on my third contract of teaching abroad. It feels like yesterday, yet the truth is, the process to get here was never quick or easy. Behind every ID card I hold, there were countless papers, sleepless nights, uncertainties, and prayers whispered in silence.

But here I am~ living a story I once only dreamed of. This path may not be perfect, but it is purposeful. It reminds me that with faith, perseverance, and courage, we can cross oceans and build bridges toward the future we envision.

To my fellow dreamers: hold on. Your journey may take time, but when the moment comes, youโ€™ll see why it was worth every step. โœˆ๏ธ๐ŸŒ

โžก๏ธ Average monthly rent ranges from NT$5,000โ€“10,000 (โ‚ฑ9,000โ€“18,000) depending on the city and apartment size. Smaller towns are cheaper, while Taipei is the most expensive.

โžก๏ธ Eating out can be affordable~ local meals cost NT$70โ€“120. Groceries may be pricier than PH, especially imported goods, so teachers often mix cooking + night market meals.

3. ๐“๐ซ๐š๐ง๐ฌ๐ฉ๐จ๐ซ๐ญ๐š๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง ๐Ÿš†
โžก๏ธ Buses and trains are reliable and affordable. A bus ride costs around NT$15โ€“30. Many teachers also buy scooters or bicycle for convenience.

โžก๏ธ Electricity can spike during summer (aircon season). Expect NT$1,500โ€“3,000 monthly (in my experience haha!) For internet, some teachers (including me, haha!) just rely on SIM cardโ€™s mobile data since itโ€™s fast, affordable, and reliable. It only costs me around NT$600 monthly.

โžก๏ธ With a teacherโ€™s salary (~NT$69,000+[basic salary] per month), you can cover all expenses and still save or travel. Most teachers can save around NT$20,000โ€“30,000 monthly if budgeting wisely.
