I’ve been to Ximending many times, and on every visit, I pass by this building. I always thought it was a church, little did I know it’s actually a national historic site that documents major moments in Taiwan’s history, from the Qing Dynasty through the Japanese occupation to the post-war period. It’s truly an unmissable stop for anyone interested in Taiwanese history.

Beyond its historical significance, Zhongshan Hall is also worth exploring for its exterior architecture, interior spaces, and exhibitions. The restaurants on the 2nd to 4th floors offer a relaxing atmosphere, perfect for enjoying tea and appreciating the serene ambiance.
