【外電狂賀!nos:books得獎了!】✨✨
We are too happy and overwhelmed to put in words, when we’re told that we got the 𝗝𝗮𝘀𝗼𝗻 𝗣𝗼𝗹𝗮𝗻 𝗔𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱.
The first time we participated in 𝗡𝗲𝘄 𝗬𝗼𝗿𝗸 𝗔𝗿𝘁 𝗕𝗼𝗼𝗸 𝗙𝗮𝗶𝗿 it was 2014. It has expanded our mind in 4D. We feel so free to practice our own ideas. Until now this excitement of freedom still motivates us.
We saw Jason Polan around the Book Fair all the time. We didn’t have chance to talk to him, but we felt safe and calm just seeing him around. In the fair he could still focus on his own practice and be comfortable of it. His way was an anchor to us when the book fair went wild.
Thanks to everyone who come to the fair. And all the friends we meet once a year, we feel so bonded to each other. Although there are people who graduated ahead of us, they left footprints and paths we know they are still there. We go to NYABF because of 𝗬𝗼𝘂, 𝘆𝗼𝘂, 𝘆𝗼𝘂, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘆𝗼𝘂, 𝘆𝗼𝘂, 𝘆𝗼𝘂…

Printed Matter is pleased to announce the winners of this year’s Jason Polan Award, Nos:Books () and Heather Benjamin (). A jury group made up of Michael Worful (), representatives from Printed Matter, and Jason Polan., LLC, reviewed a shortlist of six NY Art Book Fair exhibitors and acknowledged these two publishers with an unrestricted grant. The other nominees for this year’s prize — all notable artists and publishing practitioners, who we encourage you to check out — included: , , , and .
Founded in 2024, the Jason Polan Award honors the legacy of friend and artist Jason Polan (1982–2020). Jason was a close friend of Printed Matter and a longtime exhibitor at the NY Art Book Fair — his practice continues to inspire countless artists and illustrators who participate in the Fair. The award recognizes two artist publishers who work with illustration and embody the spirit of Jason’s practice through an appreciation of the everyday, friendship, and artistic community.
Winners were announced this weekend at the NY Art Book Fair, at a program launching 'Jason Polan: The Post Office', a new publication from Printed Matter, Inc., edited and designed by Jason Fulford. Further details available on the Printed Matter site.

*Heather Benjamin* is an artist based in NYC. She began self-publishing zines of her drawings in 2008. The jury found her work notable for her punk-inflected, illustration-based practice as well as her long-standing commitment to the Fair community. .
*nos:books* is an independent publisher founded by artist Son Ni in 2008 in Taipei. They strive to realize artists' ideas and concepts in unique book forms created by artists from Taiwan and abroad.
