How difficult is to get a permanent job in Paris as a foreigner? 🇫🇷

From easier access to the rental market to better health coverage, CDIs (Contrats à Duré Indéterminé) in Paris give immigrants like myself much-needed stability when settling in a new city.

But you need to come prepared. Data from shows that 68% of foreigners lack information about finding a job in France.

Know where to search for a job is a great first step - , and are home to some gems if you do your research, especially for startups and scaleups.

Companies including , and are currently hiring for English-speaking roles, with offices in central Paris.

Move over New York. Paris is the new king of cookies 🍪👑

Having grown up primarily in the UK and US, I’d become accustomed to frequenting the cookie greats such as New York’s with its XXL masterpieces or Oxford’s oh-so-chunky

When I first set foot in the French capital, I admittedly had very low expectations when it came to the cookie scene.

I couldn’t have been more wrong.

From refined French cookies at to thick, American-style bakes at , not to mention chewy, Taiwanese-inspired sweet treasures at , Paris offers a wealth of cookie shops out there to suit all tastes.

Parisian professionals have flocked back to the capital en masse this week, and they’re hungry 🍽️

Lunch breaks (pause déjeuner) in France are sacred —there’s no wolfing down yesterday’s leftovers at the desk here, thank you very much.

And where I work 9th arrondissement of Paris, which boasts one of the highest concentrations of offices in the capital, there’s no shortage of food spots looking to cater to ravenous corporate workers.

But after a summer of culinary indulgence, many—myself included— are seeking out healthy(er) spots to try out when the clock strikes midday. We want to satisfy our taste buds but also, well, avoid a pizza-induced food hangover around 4 PM.

Luckily, I have curated a list of my top 5 healthy food spots in the 9th, taking into account price, service and, well, yummy-ness.

Student debt 💸

It's something that many across the world have grown to succumb to without a second thought.

Each year in the UK, students rack up tens of thousands in debt in order to obtain a higher education.

Yet, it’s estimated that 83% of these graduates will never pay back these loans in full.

For a generation that’s suffered through a Zoom university pandemic and that is particularly vulnerable to the current cost of living crisis, it’s regrettable that the only option for today's graduates is seemingly years of loan repayments with salaries failing to keep up with inflation.

But there are other options.

In my latest article, I write about how to pursue a work-study Master’s in France, such as the one I was fortunate enough to complete at , where tuition is entirely covered by the company you work at and where students receive a monthly salary to cover living expenses.
