走過巷弄街道,總有一座建築讓你忍不住停下腳步,想一探究竟。

這座宛若漂浮於空中的大型白色雕塑仍令人費解,對於自己將會走進什麼樣的空間著實感到困惑。首先來到特意向內縮的地面層,其若隱若現的姿態引人遐想。接著走入朗闊的雙層高門廳,透過壓花玻璃向外望去,周圍景色與色彩如水彩般透出朦朧藝術感,與光影交織出詩意氛圍。

Unlike Pandolfini Architects’ earlier works, South Yarra House eschews overt abstraction, yet its bold silhouette—appearing to float above the ground—remains cryptic. The recessed ground floor creates a sense of subtle detachment, drawing the visitor inward. Upon entering, a voluminous double-height foyer greets you. Through textured glass, the surrounding environment filters in like a blurred watercolor, softening boundaries between inside and out.

家居作為私密場域,映照居住者的獨特樣貌。在「拓:隕石計畫」案中,擁有天文物理學(Astrophysics)背景的屋主,熱衷宇宙研究,於是建築師凝煉出「無邊界」、「領域性的模糊」與「幽微」三組關鍵詞彙,與其專業學識相呼應,並藉此創造有如天文宇宙般的無界探索空間。

The home is a deeply personal domain—one that reflects the distinctive identity of its inhabitant. In the project House W, the client, a physicist with a background in astrophysics and a lifelong fascination with the cosmos, inspired the architect to translate abstract scientific passion into spatial form. The resulting design emerged from three conceptual anchors: boundlessness, territorial ambiguity, and subtlety—each echoing the vast, fluid, and unknowable nature of the universe.

”2025 大阪世博巡禮“

有人問:「為什麼一定要去參加世博會?」
我的理由有二:
一、參加世博能知天下事(World),
二、參加世博能知未來事(Future)。
雖然在網路時代,人們已經可以坐在家裡,輕鬆得知天下事,同時也能體驗未來科技的種種發展(因此現在舉辦世博會難度越來越高)。
不過參加世博會是一種真實的體驗,這是網路世界所無法真正感受到的。同時可以體會全世界的人齊聚一堂,共同努力邁向未來的儀式感,有如是一種慶祝人類文明進步的盛會。

"1970世博會的遺跡"
參觀2025大阪世博之前,可以先到大阪的世博紀念公園,先去看看1970世博會的遺跡,特別是岡本太郎的太陽塔實在太厲害了!現今的世博會恐怕很難超越他。當年丹下健三、磯崎新、黑川紀章所規劃的展場,幾乎已經看不見任何蹤跡,印證了磯崎新曾經說的名言:「未來的建築就是廢墟,廢墟就是未來的建築。」如今連那些也不見蹤影,只剩下高聳的太陽塔依然存在,見證那個爆炸的年代。

Why Go to the World Expo?
People often ask: “ Why attend the World Expo at all? “
My reasons are simple: First, the Expo offers a window onto the world. Second, it offers a glimpse into the future.

In this digital age, one could easily stay home and discover the latest global innovations online—which makes hosting a World Expo increasingly challenging. But the World Expo is a profoundly real experience—one that no screen can replicate. It is a moment of convergence, where people from around the globe gather to collectively imagine a shared future. There’s a ritualistic gravity to it—like a celebration of human progress itself.

”Remnants of Expo '70“
Before visiting the 2025 Expo, I stopped by the Expo '70 Commemorative Park in Osaka. There, one relic still dominates the landscape: Taro Okamoto’s iconic Tower of the Sun. Even today, it’s hard to imagine a structure more powerful in symbolism and scale—a landmark that even today’s World Expos struggle to surpass. Nearly all the other pavilions—once planned by great architects like Kenzo Tange, Arata Isozaki, and Kisho Kurokawa—have vanished. Isozaki’s prophetic line, “The future of architecture is ruins; ruins are the future of architecture,” now reads like a self-fulfilling epigraph. Only the towering sun sculpture endures, a totem from that explosive age.

摺紙般的建築"House in Muko"

建築立面與主要結構皆以混凝土為主,若仔細觀察其脫模未過度修飾的表面,留下局部模板紋理及細微孔洞,雖不完美平整卻真實呈現,展現著純粹而質樸的特質。

自各體塊斜角處至它點的線性連結,串接成如摺紙般連續整體的屋頂曲面,建築透過材質與形體將往昔更迭的時間軸線具象化,緩緩流逝的歲月如似被封存的城市地景,靜靜講述著皺摺迭代的記憶,與基地共築彼此存在的價值。

The building’s façade and structure are formed primarily in cast-in-place concrete. Left raw and unpolished after the formwork was removed, the surface retains subtle traces of its making—board marks, air pockets, irregularities. These imperfections are not concealed, but embraced as evidence of material authenticity.

A network of angled lines links the corners of each volume, converging into a folded roofscape that evokes the delicate creases of origami. In this geometry, the architecture renders time as something tangible: a series of spatial folds that hold the memory of past and present in a shared physical continuum.

你願意在這座「山」裡停留多久?

俯視這件名為「治癒之山」的藝術裝置,靜靜地佇立於田野腹地中央與「君山島」遙望,其彎曲如似山形輪廓的結構,提供人們能入內獨處、冥想,或自在坐臥於開闊明亮的外圍,環顧四周風景、沉浸自然。

這座「山」作為一個空間概念,延承中國傳統建築屋頂詩意的脈絡,從遮蔽的陰影發展如屋脊對稱結構,整體形態可視為兩個鏡像等腰三角斜面,其邊長各為 14 公尺,於兩端對角及 5 根鋼管構成十字支撐柱,與水平鋼管焊接在一起並將其嵌入地面之下,以穩固且防止結構下沉的可能,團隊進一步於內部僅以三點支撐懸起這座幾何山形,使裝置能呈現視覺的輕盈感。

Quietly standing in the open heart of a field and gazing across toward Junshan Island, Healing “MOUNTAIN” appears like a curved silhouette of a mountain gently resting on the land. This sculptural installation invites visitors to enter its sheltered core for solitude and contemplation, or to linger freely along its bright and open periphery—surrounded by the expanse of nature.

As a spatial concept, the project draws upon the poetic lineage of traditional Chinese rooflines. From the primal act of shading came the design logic: a ridge-like, symmetrical geometry composed of two mirrored isosceles triangular planes, each with an edge length of 14 meters. The structure is anchored at both ends by diagonal columns and stabilized by a central cross-shaped support of five welded steel tubes embedded below ground. This three-point support system minimizes contact with the earth and gives the installation a striking sense of lightness and elevation.
