I just found a spelling mistake on my website… Whoops!

Honestly though? I don’t even mind anymore. Here’s why I let a few grammar gremlins live in my marketing on purpose.

Sometimes they’re just real. Brain moving faster than my fingers, typos happen. Annoying sure, but also proof an actual human wrote the thing instead of copy pasting it from a robot. That’s exactly what happened on my homepage.

Other times I sneak one in on purpose. Because nothing get a comment or a share faster than someone catching a spelling mistake. This way it feeds the algorithm exactly what I need and gets more traction! Plus a grammar mistake is far more authentic than using endless amounts of em dashes — — — I’m sorry, but we’re just not all scholarly pupils on social media 😆

So yeah. Not perfect. But it’s real, and real gets remembered. As Bob Ross would say, no mistakes, just happy little accidents!

One year ago today I registered Rogue Marketing. I was four months pregnant, running on a dream and stubbornness, and determined to find my creativity and love for marketing again.

What I thought would take years took weeks. Referrals rolled in, and this community showed up hard for me right from the start. That mixed with a lot of late nights and a stupid amount of stubbornness got me here a lot faster than I ever would have expected.

I will never take a single business relationship I’ve built this year for granted. I’m grateful for every single one of you, and I don’t plan on stopping anytime soon.

Right now, Rogue’s books are full. In order to keep providing the kind of high-impact marketing my current clients deserve, I’m holding off on new clients for now, not because I don’t want to help more people, but because I never want to stretch myself so thin that the results suffer.

But if you’re a Red Deer business owner looking for the right marketing partner, I know a lot of genuinely great ones in this city and I’d happily point you toward someone who’s a great fit!

I’m baaaack (probably?) 😂

I didn’t post for two weeks. New mom chaos, a full client roster, volunteer committees, an inbox that had its own opinions about my time and life in general all kept me busy.

And you know what happened to my business?

An inquiry came in. Old reels kept circulating. New followers showed up. The inbox stayed busy.

The algorithm did not send me a strongly worded letter. The world kept spinning.

Here’s the thing nobody tells you: a two week gap isn’t a disaster. It’s not even that notable. The content you’ve already built has momentum. If it was good when you posted it, it’s still working after you walk away.

What actually kills your social media isn’t a busy week. It’s having nothing worth coming back to. No real content, no engagement, no reason for anyone to care whether you post or not.

To the woman who taught me that the best views require the hardest climbs and that life is better with a little mud on your boots.

Mom, you have hiked mountains with me, paddled rivers, biked trails, crossed time zones, and showed up to wrangle a baby so I could keep building this business.

You are the reason I know how to work hard without losing my heart. You’re the most badass role model I know, and one of the best grandmas a kid could ever ask for.

Happy Mother’s Day. I love you a ridiculous amount. I couldn’t run my business or my house without you. Thank you for everything you do for me, Everly and Rogue 💕
