I spent money on an office chair yesterday because I was almost developing a serious health issue.
This is one of those things people don’t always say out loud about building a serious business.
You have to start investing in the things that make it possible for you to do your best work.
I’ve struggled with back pain for yearssss.
I’ve bought different “ergonomic” chairs. Sat on them. Adjusted them. Tried to convince myself they were comfortable.
They weren’t.
And because I work remotely, I’m sitting for hours every single day. So imagine doing that with a chair that makes you hate sitting.
Yesterday, I finally went to a store and told the owner exactly what I needed.
Same thing I had always done whenever I wanted to get a new chair.
Do they lie to me? I don’t know.
Anyway, this lady recommended this kidney chair.
I sat on it and immediately knew.
The way it hugged my back??? I didn’t have to adjust anything or lean in.
Omo. THIS was what I had been looking for. 😭
I bought it, came home, and worked on it all night.
And my back was just fine.
No bending forward. No constantly shifting around. No getting up every 30 minutes because I’m uncomfortable.
I could have managed without buying it.
But I’m not trying to “manage” this program.
The Launch Workshop starts on Saturday, and I’ve been putting serious thought, time and money into making sure the people coming into this program actually get something valuable from it.
The extra expense isn’t really extra.
It’s the cost of taking what you’re building seriously.
I’ll be doing long hour calls and content creation.
Anyway, my back is happy now.
I hope it lasts.
Saturday, we work.
