We made it down.
The summit was quiet, cold, and powerful. But the walk down Kilimanjaro is where everything turned into a party.
Dust on our boots, sunshine on our faces, and someone started drumming on a water bottle. Then came the singing. Swahili songs, old camp songs, new songs we made up. We were dancing on the trail, laughing at how sore we were, and high-fiving strangers from other groups. The porters led the chorus. The guides told stories. 7 days of hard work suddenly felt like one big celebration.
And then the best part at the gate. The certificate ceremony.
Standing there with your team, getting that official Kilimanjaro certificate with your name and summit height on it. Proof that you made it to the roof of Africa. We were still dirty, still tired, but we were grinning and singing again while we held them up for photos.
That is what a Kilimanjaro climb with Uprise Africa Tours feels like. Challenge, culture, and joy from base to summit and back down.
