Ahmed Ololade, professionally known as Asake, is a Nigerian singer and songwriter. Born on January 13, 1995, in Lagos, Nigeria, Asake rose to fame in the Nigerian music industry with his unique blend of street-hop and Afrobeats.
Early Life and Education
Asake was born and raised in Lagos, Nigeria. He grew up in a family of music lovers and was exposed to various genres of music from an early age. Asake developed a passion for music and began singing and writing songs as a teenager.
Asake attended the Obafemi Awolowo University in Ile-Ife, Osun State, where he studied Theatre and Performing Arts. During his time at university, Asake honed his craft as a singer and songwriter, performing at campus events and gatherings.
Music Career
Asake's music career began to take shape in 2018 when he released his debut single, "Ayeeza". However, it was his 2020 single "Lady" that brought him widespread recognition and attention.
In 2022, Asake signed a record deal with YBNL Nation, a prominent Nigerian record label founded by Olamide. Under YBNL Nation, Asake released his debut EP, "Ololade Asake", which featured the hit singles "Omo Ope" and "Sungba".
Asake's music style is a fusion of street-hop, Afrobeats, and Fuji, with lyrics that often reflect his experiences growing up in Lagos. His unique sound and energetic live performances have endeared him to fans across Nigeria and beyond.
