I haven't listened to music on headphones since February 2022. Not because I stopped liking it, but because you have to control every minute. Is the air raid siren sounding again? Is there any danger of ballistics or drone attacks? Do you have to think about how to catch your cat and drag her into the hallway? Many things have changed, but music cannot be canceled. It is there and it saves you from falling off the edge.

Thank you, Barn Owl and The Necks. You have been my life jacket in recent weeks.

Very happy to introduce you to a new release. Many of you know Frank Baugh because of his great and high-rated in my personal playlists Sparkling Wide Pressure project. However, he has other facets as well. One of them is Night Sky Body, which got its name from the 2016 SWP album. Sonic abstractionism at its best.

In Frank's words — "this album continues the work I've been doing to delve into my subconscious with surrealist techniques of automatic writing and dream journaling. The sonic environments are born out of improvisational sound sculptures that are whittled away until only the essential elements are left. Accidents and mistakes are celebrated and highlighted. I'm seeking out a reflection of the hidden parts of myself in an effort to become more whole."

UPD: I've been asked several times why the tracks were arranged simply by the names of the musicians. It's hard for me to answer, but I think I can say something resembling more or less the truth. Since for me every track and every feedback from all the artists who responded to the offer to participate in this compilation is important practically on the same level, I didn't dare to make some sonic paradigm and just arranged the tracks in alphabetical order by the names of the artists. Surprisingly... It's amazing that once again, serendipity works. It's time for me to stop being surprised. My personal opinion is that this order is awesome. If this one doesn't work for you, make it another way. This compilation is about freedom. Be free!

With great sadness, I have to announce that Keijo Virtanen died yesterday... For me, he will always be one of the greatest musicians of the modern psychedelic scene and I will listen to his albums with both sadness and joy that we knew each other. RIP, Blue Wanderer.

Thanks to everyone who responded to the WHNZ:74:WAR collection in any form, with your help more than $3K was transferred to territorial defense and volunteers engaged in buying all the most necessary things in these terrible days for Ukraine. For me personally, this is a fantastic amount, I never thought that such a thing is even possible... Thanks a lot to everyone who supports my country today. Thank you for all the support: material, informational, spiritual...

I know that among my friends listening to the music included in this compilation, there are many people who still love physical releases. I myself have several times received offers from various people to release this or that release on cassette or even on LP. However, until today, such things have not been implemented. But only until now: some time ago I was contacted by the American artist Jesse S. Dewlow and offered to release WHNZ:74:WAR on CS-92 cassette. Obviously, the digital version of the compilation was too extensive so he had to select only certain tracks from the original digital album. He approached the matter as a producer and as a listener at the same time. Everyone has a different perspective on this or that substance, we can describe even a tree (or sea) in different ways. So I decided not to influence Jesse's choice in any way, because it was his suggestion, he just saw how else he could help and just offered his hand. I am immensely grateful to him for that.

I received word from him yesterday that the release is ready and will be available for shipment on Monday. You can hear the mastered version of the tracks on this cassette release, called The Gold and Purple Sceptre, on the label's Saga House BC.
