How To Excite Kids About an Ancient Temple…

The Holy Temple stood in Jerusalem for hundreds of years,
bearing witness to the Jewish nation’s unbreakable bond with God.

It’s been over two thousand years since it last physically stood,
yet its image and message remain deeply etched in the Jewish collective identity.

Through paintings, diagrams, and miniature models—
its form, layout, and design—this holy building lives on,
sparking excitement in the next generation
and awakening a deep yearning for something that stood so long ago.

That yearning will help bring about the Third Temple with Moshiach, may it be today!

By giving our children a vivid, tangible connection to our history,
we kindle the flame of a Jewish future.

Ariel Sharon — legendary Israeli general and later Israel’s 11th Prime Minister — once gave a speech in the U.S., urging Jews to take pride in their identity.

When he later told the Rebbe about his talk, the Rebbe asked:

“But what did you tell them to do?”
Ariel responded, “Identify as Jews.”
So the Rebbe explained, “When it comes to a Jew who grew up in a traditional Jewish home, it could be that his identifying as a Jew will hold him for one generation, but it will not guarantee the future of the Jewish people.
It must also be coupled with action — practical observance of God’s commandments.”

Jewish pride is powerful — but Jewish practice is what makes it last.
