We present to your attention a teaser for Darya Hnylytska’s short animated film “Out from inside”, which is a participant in the "What I Love" anthology. The producer of the project is Oleh Malamuzh, director of "Mavka. The Forest Song", curator of the directing course at the online institute Projector.

This story is about a boy who unexpectedly encounters a mysterious creature that appears out of nowhere in his childhood room. At first, the boy is delighted by the new acquaintance and explores the world with a new friend that only he can see. But when adults, instead of sharing the child's delight, begin to treat the boy with caution and anxiety, and his peers turn away from him, the colors around him become less bright for the boy, and the new magical friend changes its appearance and becomes the cause of nightmares and the child's reclusive behavior.

But the creature does not leave the boy and tries to make him look at it with the same admiring eyes with which he looked at it for the first time.

“Out from inside” is a story about how society’s view of people’s peculiarities and neurodivergency influences the formation of an impression of these very differences not only in the eyes of those who observe them, but also in the bearers of these peculiarities themselves. Because a carelessly expressed thought or a condescending attitude from the outside towards what used to give you joy and make the world more interesting can turn it into a reason to be ashamed of yourself. Therefore, with this story I want to remind you of the importance of your own feelings and attitude towards things that happen to you or inside you. It depends only on yourselves whether your uniqueness will become a burden or your strength.

We present to your attention a teaser for Tetiana Babanina’s short animated film "Warrior Inside of You", which is a participant in the "What I Love" anthology. The producer of the project is Oleh Malamuzh, director of "Mavka. The Forest Song", curator of the directing course at the online institute Projector.
Her older brother, the only one who loves her, dies from the fangs of the devil. The dog gets older but still she can’t forgive herself after this tragedy. In the middle of the woods she meets a wolf and together they continue to go forward. After so many years the devil finds her again but this time she can’t let him take another soul she loves…
“Warrior inside of you” is the story of someone who believes that, despite their weaknesses and fears, they still hold the responsibility for their loved ones. Only that can lead to self hate and most terrible thoughts possible. I want to show with this story, this character, for the ones who are facing dreadful experiences, war, death, unfairness, that no matter how difficult and impossible the events might seem, there’s always a fighter, a warrior inside of you, who will show herself when the time has come. And never forget, evil will not defeat evil. Only love, kindness and courage to forgive will save us all…

We present to your attention a teaser for Iuliia Kotsiuba short animated film "My Closet", which is a participant in the "What I Love" anthology. The producer of the project is Oleg Malamuzh, director of "Mavka. The Forest Song”, curator of the directing course at the online institute Projector.

Due to the terrible war, Iuliia is forced to divorce her husband, who went to serve in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. While doing ordinary things and maintaining contact with her lover, she tries to overcome fear and despair.

“My Closet” is my debut animated short film, created during the war. At a time when strength and internal reserves are enough only to survive another day, support loved ones and not go crazy. I remember how I wanted to reach normality - having breakfast, drawing, enjoying sunny mornings while hiding the pain. As if this could make all the troubles disappear…
But this film is not my story alone. It is the story of every woman who waits and hopes. I want “My Closet” to be a reminder that we are not alone, and that there is incredible strength in our vulnerability. Because only by acknowledging our feelings can we find the strength to carry on.

The director of the animated film "Mavka. The Forest Song" Oleh Malamuzh in cooperation with the students of the Animated Film Direction course of the online Institute Projector, present the third trailer of the Ukrainian animation anthology "What I love".

Despite the difficult circumstances due to the war, work on the project does not stop, and in the next year, 2025, you will see "What I love" in cinemas, on television and VOD platforms!

We will remind you that the production of the "What I love" anthology started at the beginning of the director course in 2021 and currently includes 23 short animated films united by one theme.

These are the theses of filmmaking students who seek to speak to the world through their creativity. The authors and directors of the project are:
Daniela Kareli, Tina Singa, Liudmyla Zymomria, Yulia Skibiniuk, Valerii Lifyrenko, Olena Turska, Mariia Lytovchenko, Andrii Tsizh, Alina Stetsenko, Daria Hnylytska, Dmytro Kolot, Kseniia Smirnova, Yaroslav Kutichenko, Tetiana Babanina, Polina Vetchynkina, Yuliia Oleksenko, Nadiia Doichev-Butt, Nadiia Kovalchuk, Svitlana Kovalska, Anastasiia Tereshchenko, Denys Tymofieiev, Yuliia Kotsiuba.

"What I love" is our voice not only to the international animation community, but an appeal to the whole world that there is "something" that is even stronger than war and thanks to which we live and continue to create. And this "something" is Love!

"What I love" is the reflection and awareness of Ukrainians about the things that fill life with meaning. This is definitely a deep and authentic project in terms of storytelling, because it is created by people who face loss and death every day.

Each of the stories is unique, like an imprint of the author's soul, and has a unique picture and voice. And this is precisely the strength of the project, its beauty and versatility.

Also, if you are reading this and realize that you also want to speak to the world about something important through your creative works, we invite you to study at the Projector online institute: recruitment for the 2024/2025 year for Oleh Malamuzh's course Animated Film Direction is currently underway.

Please note: everyone who is willing will not only master the directing speciality, but will also have a great opportunity to participate in the next season of the "What I love" anthology.

Кожна із історій є унікальною, наче відбиток душі автора, має неповторний малюнок і голос. І, саме в цьому сила проекту, краса та універсальність.
