❗️The Ukrainian steel industry is one of the few sectors that, despite the war, has maintained its production capacity and market position abroad. However, it now finds itself at the epicenter of global protectionism, and the threats on this front are no less serious than those on the front lines.

China has traditionally been the largest consumer of Ukrainian iron ore.

🌐Global steel production in April 2026 fell by 1.9% year-on-year and by 4.1% month-on-month, reaching 153.4 million tons.

The top three steel-producing countries in April 2026, according to World Steel Association:
🇨🇳China – 83.6 million tons;
🇮🇳India – 13.8 million tons;
🇺🇸USA – 7.2 million tons.
