🗓 October 4 — World Animal Day
🎬 On this day, as part of the Odesa International Film Festival, a special screening of our documentary film No Shade in the Forest, directed by Volodymyr Tykhyi, took place.
The screening was part of the thematic section “All Creatures — Big and Small,” dedicated to the protection of animals and the environmental challenges brought by the war.

This screening is an important step toward making nature’s voice heard: the film reveals how the war damages Ukraine’s national parks and nature reserves — and why we must act now.
We sincerely thank the festival organizers and everyone who came to support the film and join the conversation about the fragile balance between nature and humanity.

🗓 4 жовтня — Всесвітній день захисту тварин
🎬 У цей день у межах Одеського міжнародного кінофестивалю відбувся спецпоказ нашого документального фільму «Немає тіні у лісі», реж. Володимир Тихий.
Показ пройшов у тематичній секції «Усі створіння — великі й малі», присвяченій захисту тварин та екологічним викликам, які принесла війна.

Цей показ — важливий крок до того, щоб голос природи був почутий: фільм показує, як війна завдає шкоди національним паркам і заповідникам України, і чому діяти потрібно вже зараз.
Ми щиро дякуємо організаторам фестивалю та всім, хто прийшов підтримати фільм і долучився до розмови про крихку рівновагу між природою та людиною.

🌱📽️ Екожурналістка "Рубрики" Вікторія Губарева — героїня фільму режисера Володимира Тихого No shade in the forest ("Немає тіні в лісі"), який покажуть вже 4 жовтня у Києві в рамках спецпоказу програми "Усі створіння — великі і малі" на Одеському міжнародному кінофестивалі

Фільм покликаний привернути увагу до теми впливу війни на довкілля. Детальніше про це — ⬇️

💬"Знаєте, чому така назва? Ми знімали кіно влітку. І літо видалось не просто спекотним, а пекельним.. В такі дні хочеться сховатись в тіні, а коли ти працюєш над фільмом про природу, єдина тінь на знімальному майданчику — це тінь від дерев. Та в наших лісах її не було, бо немає тіні в лісі, що згорів. Так просто, і так промовно", — розповіла Вікторія Губарєва.

Пишаємося! І дякуємо за роботи, що говорять про важливе — про довкілля, яке зазнає жахливих втрат в ході війни росії проти України 💔

We are excited to present the teaser of our documentary film “No Shade in the Forest.”

We spent 2 years working on this film to show what is often unseen in the news: how the war is destroying protected nature of Ukraine. During the filming, our team traveled over 9,000 km — from Donetsk region to the Carpathian mountains, from Chornobyl to the Black Sea. We reviewed hundreds of archival materials, collected unique audio archives, and did incredible work with the sounds of nature to reveal the truth about the scale of ecocide in National Parks and Nature Reserves.

This is a film about devastated ecosystems, about people who protect nature, and about those who continue the struggle to preserve nature, even where explosions are heard every day. Each of them does everything possible to preserve what can still be saved. But can they stop a process that may change the biosphere forever?...

“No Shade in the Forest” begins its festival journey at home, in Ukraine, where it has been selected for a special screening “All Creatures — Great and Small” at the International Film Festival
The screening will take place on October 4 - World Animal Day.

Congratulations to all the women who change this world every day – with their courage, care, love and struggle. 🌷🌷🌷
And it's a perfect moment to announce our project, which we've been working on for almost a year – the feature film "On This Land We Are Free Flowers."

We are proud that our project received support from the Українська Кіноакадемія in collaboration with The Netflix Fund for Creative Equity and has come a long way this year – from the idea to the final touches of the script. The grant for script development was not just support for us, but a true recognition of the importance and power of our project on the international arena.

This film is about the incredible strength and resilience of four fragile women-florists from Kyiv endure war on the home front, becoming an ironclad support for others, proving the aggressor won’t be welcomed with the flowers.

Women and flowers – could there be a more beautiful and powerful combination? Ukrainian women are answering this question right now.
