Новая Земля, Флорида, но общественные социальные привычки выробатаеые годами со мной. Общественные организации, всегда помогали в адаптации, людям, которые хотели изменить мир к лучшему. Сегодня я была второй раз на встрече Rotary. Для меня это шанс познать глубже культуру и устои Америки, ну и конечно сильное активное окружение. Чувствую себя ребёнком, познающим новый мир. Счастлива быть в такой доброй и заботливой семье.
Сегодня был невероятный спикер. Впервые в живую я познакомилась с Американским лоббистом. Его автобиография вдохновляет. Мы обсуждали Американское образование, государственные и приватные университеты. Я имама планирую продолжить мое образование тут, для этого конечно нужен круг.

Joe Gibbons was born in New York City. He received a bachelor’s Degree in Sociology from Calvin College in Grand Rapids Michigan, and a master’s Degree in public administration from John Jay College of Criminal Justice of the City University of New York. He has been a resident of Florida since 1994.
Joe spent 8 years in various sales management marketing positions with IBM. While working with IBM, he earned the IBM 100% Club Presidency Award for the highest sales and business achievement nationwide. He left IBM to start his own computer hardware, software and supplies retail and distribution business. He opened 4 locations in several cities throughout the State of Michigan supplying major corporations, universities, small businesses, and retail customers. He spent 6 years as President and General Manager of a computer manufacturing and distribution company headquartered in Toronto Canada with national responsibility. He also spent seven years with Ackerman LLP, a leading United States law firm, as a Public Policy Advisor. He is currently the President of Gibbons Consulting Group, representing public and private entities in the areas of consulting, lobbying, issue advocacy, community, and faith-based outreach.
Joe Gibbons was elected to the Florida House of Representatives in 2006. His issue areas were Appropriations, Business & Professional Regulations, Financial Services, Economic Affairs, Affordable Housing, Healthcare, Gaming, and Energy and Utilities Policy. Joe Gibbons was elected Chair of The Florida Legislative Black Caucus and chosen as the Democratic Minority Leader Pro Tempore. He also served as Chair of the National Black Caucus of State Legislators Energy, Transportation, and Environment Committee.
Prior to his election to the Florida House of Representatives, Joe served one term as a Commissioner in the City of Hallandale Beach, Florida, Chair of the Broward Black Elected Officials, and as a member of the Broward County Planning Council.
Joe has earned numerous awards and recognitions for his business achievements and community service. He was appointed to the White House Conference on Small Business, and recognized on the cover of Nations Business Magazine for his dedication to advancing “Small Business Initiatives”. He Championed the establishment of “HERI” (Florida Health Equity Research Institute) and received the Florida Associations of Community Health Centers Legislative Champion Award. He was also recognized, by the Small Business Administration, as the “Minority Businessperson of the Year.”
Joe currently serves on several public and volunteer boards including Henderson Behavioral Health Centers, the Audit and Finance Committee and Board of the Primary Care Clinics of the Palm Beach County Hospital District, Aventura Marketing, and the Chamber of Commerce Chairman’s Round Table. He works with the South Broward Ministerial Alliance, the Florida Urban Leagues and is a Life Member of the NAACP. He is the Past President and Current Member of the Hallandale Beach/Aventura Rotary Club where in 2005, he was named Rotarian of the Year.
Joe is married to Ava Parker, the President of Palm Beach State College, and they have 13-year-old twins.
