Angelina Usanova Foundation launched an initiative in partnership with UAnimals .official created to help teenagers develop a deeper sense of responsibility through meaningful support for animals.

UAnimals is a leading Ukrainian animal welfare organization that evacuates animals from frontline areas, conducts veterinary missions, supports shelters and advances educational programs. United by a shared vision, we joined efforts to engage young people in real action and help them understand the importance behind it.

Before HumanKind Fest 3.0 finalists from all festival editions visited Patron Pet Center, where they worked alongside volunteers in the daily shelter routines: cleaning the territory, walking dogs and assisting with feeding. The participants also delivered humanitarian aid, including dog food, probiotics, veterinary medicines, hygiene products, disinfectants and essential cleaning supplies.

Olha Chevhaniuk, Head of Strategic Initiatives at UAnimals, joined HumanKind Fest 3.0 as a special guest. On stage, she shared insights about organization’s work, its current priorities and the urgent need to support animal rescue programs. She also highlighted our joint initiatives, including youth-focused volunteer and educational projects, as well as the Animal Protection Award ceremony. The festival featured a fundraiser aimed at improving shelter conditions and supporting animal care.

This collaboration reflects our broader mission to nurture a generation raise a generation that understands empathy, accountability and respect for life in all its forms. We are sincerely grateful to UAnimals for walking this path alongside us 🤍

Partnership is the key to sustainable impact. At Angelina Usanova Foundation we believe that long-term collaboration allows us to remain present where support is needed most.

In cooperation with UAnimals, we protect and care for animals living in difficult conditions across Ukraine. Together we have provided food for 1710 animals, distributed 3490 kilograms of pet food and 1560 anti-parasitic treatments in 27 frontline villages. Our environmental initiatives include the installation of 100 birdhouses in national parks, planting of 160 trees and removal of 34 tons of waste. Importantly, we actively engage young people in these efforts, fostering responsibility and environmental awareness through meaningful participation.

Angelina Usanova Foundation also became the general partner of the Animal Protection Award organized by UAnimals. Animal defenders, volunteers, environmental activists, who rescue animals even in times of war were honored for their courage and dedication.

In partnership with the City of Goodness, we support children in crisis and families affected by war. Each month, more than 300 critically ill children receive care at the House of Butterflies hospice, which we support with essential medicines, rehabilitation equipment and vital medical supplies. Together, we have also contributed to the opening of a pediatric respiratory unit and supported cultural initiatives such as the exhibition “Seen Through the Heart”.

Through our patronage of School No. 15, we provide ongoing support to 247 children with special educational needs. Our contributions include computers, projectors, sensory equipment, educational materials and supply kits — ensuring access to an inclusive and well-equipped learning environment. We also support key celebrations throughout the academic year.

Together with Restavrator we implemented a humanitarian initiative for families affected by war, delivering food packages, warm clothing and hygiene essentials during winter season.

We extend our gratitude to every partner who shares this responsibility with us. If you are committed to long-term impact, we welcome collaboration. Sustainable change is achieved when we act together! 🪽

🐋 February 19 marks World Marine Mammal Protection Day.

The date was established after the global ban on commercial whaling in 1986. Yet nearly four decades later, the challenges remain urgent. Ocean pollution, plastic waste, climate change, underwater noise from shipping, habitat loss and captivity continue to threaten whales, dolphins and other marine mammals across the world.

At Angelina Usanova Foundation, environmental care is part of our long-term commitment. We regularly organize clean-up initiatives, integrate responsible waste management into our events, promote recycling campaigns and involve children and youth in environmental education. By connecting culture, education and sustainability, we aim to build habits that support a more conscious relationship with nature.

The future of marine life depends on consistent everyday choices, so reduce single-use plastic, sort and recycle waste properly and choose more responsible consumption.

HumanKind Fest 3.0 continues its eco-responsible tradition of collecting used batteries 🌱

HumanKind Fest consistently advances the sustainability mission of the Angelina Usanova Foundation, integrating these values into every edition of the event. During rehearsals and on the festival day, participants and guests of HumanKind Fest united to collect 25 kg of used batteries.

At the previous festival edition in August, 30 kg of used batteries were gathered. Combined, these initiatives have resulted in a total of 55 kg of batteries being responsibly collected and sent for safe recycling — a tangible contribution to reducing environmental harm.

This initiative aim is to inspire environmental awareness, encourage conscious choices, and reinforce social responsibility among all participants.

All collected batteries will be safely recycled in cooperation with the nationwide movement Give Up the Batteries!, ensuring proper processing and preventing hazardous waste from contaminating ecosystems and endangering public health.

Finalists of all Editions of HumanKind Fest experienced caring for animals in a shelter it during the visit to the Patron Pet Center as a joined initiative of AUF and UAnimals 🐶

Teenagers spent the whole day doing daily work of the shelter — walking dogs, feeding animals, brushing and washing them, cleaning floors and animal enclosures. This experience revealed how physically demanding, emotionally challenging and at the same time critically important the work of animal welfare organizations is, especially in the context of war.

The day left a strong impression on the participants. One of the finalists of HumanKind Fest 3.0, Veronika Kogan, shared her thoughts:
“I am very happy that I was able to contribute to such an important charitable cause. This experience gave me a strong desire to continue supporting centers like this.”

This initiative was implemented together with UAnimals to realize educational and humanitarian mission of HumanKind Fest. The goal of this project was to show young participants that care and responsibility are not abstract ideas, but actions that require time, efforts and personal involvement.

We invited Olha Chevhaniuk, Head of Strategic Initiatives at UAnimals, to HumanKind Fest to reflect on this experience. She highlighted the importance of engaging children in animal care and volunteer work.

Patron Pet Center is a Kyiv-based shelter that rescues animals from frontline areas, provides medical treatment, rehabilitation, and socialization, and helps them find new families. Currently, the center cares for 144 cats and 127 dogs affected by war and displacement.

Supporting animal welfare is a value shared by Angelina Usanova Foundation, so for us it was also important to contribute directly to the shelter’s mission. As part of this initiative, humanitarian assistance was provided, including dog food, probiotics, veterinary medicines, hygiene products, disinfectants and essential cleaning supplies.

This visit became an important step in helping young people better understand the realities behind humanitarian and environmental work — and a reminder that meaningful change begins with personal involvement and responsibility!

Ahead of the bright Christmas holiday, 100 residents and internally displaced people in Kharkiv received festive hot meals 🪽

This humanitarian initiative was carried out to support those who need care and assistance the most — elderly people and individuals with disabilities. The festive menu included chicken soup, buckwheat porridge, pork cutlet, vinaigrette and gingerbread — warm meals prepared to ensure they could celebrate Christmas

Special attention was given to people with limited mobility. Volunteers delivered hot meals directly to their homes, ensuring that everyone could receive support regardless of their physical condition.

Angelina Usanova Foundation continues to provide help where it is especially needed on a usual basis — in communities regularly affected by shelling and ongoing instability — standing alongside people living in the most vulnerable circumstances.

“And I wish I could do more” - these words became a reflection of an ongoing goal of Angelina Usanova Foundation .life

Today Angelina Usanova Foundation celebrates its official first anniversary.

Over the past year, our work reached people and communities across different countries and contexts — humanitarian aid and support for children affected by war, environmental clean-ups, animal welfare initiatives, educational and cultural projects. Thousands of people received assistance, hundreds of children and animals were supported, environmental actions were implemented on a large scale.

“Every project reminded me, when people come together, compassion becomes action. Hope becomes reality. And this year we affirmed something I’ve always believed. Every action matters. No step is too small and no effort is wasted.”

This principle defines the Foundation’s approach: through action, shared responsibility, and the understanding that progress is built step by step.

This is not a conclusion. It is a continuation of work shaped by intention — to do more, to reach further, and to remain present where support is needed most.

Angelina Usanova Foundation celebrates official first anniversary 🪽

Today marks one year since Foundation’s formal registration. Yet care, humanitarian support and respect for nature have been integral to Angelina’s path for many years. The Foundation became a way to bring this long-standing commitment into a consistent framework of action.

This year was shaped by sustained support for people living in difficult circumstances, focused attention on children requiring special care, systematic assistance to animals and integration of environmental responsibility into everyday practice.

▫️ Over 1 ton of humanitarian aid was delivered to 5035 people and 1587 children affected by war and forced displacement.

▫️ We continued supporting City of Goodness and the House of Butterflies medical centre, providing children in palliative care with medicines, medical equipment and daily necessities.

▫️ We continued long-term support of School for Children with Special Needs №15, providing creative kits, educational materials, toys and equipment, including televisions.

▫️ 1080 animals were supplied with food, veterinary medicines and hygiene products. In partnership with UAnimals we implemented a project engaging children in caring for rescued animals and fostering compassion through real experience.

▫️ We held three editions of HumanKind Fest in total, a charitable youth music festival where 32 participants performed live with professional musicians, gained stage experience and took part in environmental initiatives such as battery collection and animal shelter visits.

▫️ We carried out environmental clean-up and recycling initiatives, collecting 4005 tons of waste and contributing to a more responsible relationship with environment.

All of these efforts were guided by a single intention to affirm that every action matters and every outstretched hand of support can help preserve a dream.

None of this would have been possible without the support of our partners. We are deeply grateful to everyone who helped turn ideas into action.

This year defined a clear direction for the future work of the Angelina Usanova Foundation and we are committed to continuing this path.

On St. Nicholas Day, Angelina Usanova Foundation .life provided hot meals to more than one hundred children in the Kharkiv region 🪽

Families with many children and single parents received full meal kits. The menu included hearty rassolnyk soup, pasta with roasted chicken, and a fresh salad. And to bring a touch of celebration, every meal package was complemented with a festive gingerbread cookie.

This time, our team used eco-friendly packaging, continuing our commitment to caring for the planet.

Angelina Usanova Foundation continues its work where support is needed every day — in communities suffering from the ongoing impact of war.
