What Happened To The Music? Its both - a personal reflection and a question directed outward. Where do we go from here? How do we confront the consequences of endless consumption?

David Mootney, hailing from the outskirts of Ukraine’s capital, has always sought to blur the boundaries between genres, bringing a rebellious spirit and an uncompromising philosophy to his craft. The aesthetics of the “dirty Kyiv electro” tradition have remained a defining thread throughout his work. But the only constant is change, and the music evolves alongside us.

Expanding on ideas introduced in his previous Mystictrax release, Mootney takes a radically different approach. Instead of aiming to overwhelm or shock, he chooses subtlety, drawing the listener in rather than demanding attention. Built around extensive vinyl sampling, the EP blends euphoric, mystical and faintly delirious melodies with fractured electro rhythms.

Across three original tracks, Mootney explores the outer edges of electro, while a heavyweight remix from PROGRAMM_LDN co-founder D3U5E adds an extra dose of raw energy to close the release.
