When I last posted on this page my daughter was 2. She is now 7 and my son is going to be 2. In 2019 I finished writing a thesis on Early English Ship Design. Finally, by 2017 the big book of La Belle research studies was published. I decided to use some quarantine time to scan my published chapter on the Hull Design & post it on academia edu. Hope to be sharing more here shortly, & Hope everyone is managing in these difficult times!

It is not surprising that there was more than one ship named "Royal Louis" (see previous post) in the history of the French Navy. Nicolas Mioque (on the Trois-Ponts blog) provides a succinct rundown of the six ships by that name from the reign of Louis XIV to that of Charles X.

Hello - a very warm welcome to the page of Tangency Press ( www.tangencypress.com )

Tangency Press was created to post working papers on the history of ship design and construction. It was specifically designed to facilitate publishing papers on archaeological ship reconstruction that often incorporate numerous graphics that need to be viewed at a fairly large scale.
