Mbale MC Stabbed to Death by Girlfriend.
A music MC in Mbale City was on Tuesday night stabbed to death in an alleged domestic brawl.
The deceased has been identified as Wanambwa Jonathan commonly known as Garvin, a resident of Muyembe, Maluku Ward in Industrial Division, Mbale City. He worked as an MC at Oak Bar.
Elgon Region Police spokesperson Rogers Taitika confirmed the incident and identified the prime suspect as Namono Geraldine, the deceased’s girlfriend, who is currently in custody at Mbale Central Police Station.
According to police, the incident occurred at around 9:20 pm when a woman identified as Hellya Sonia visited Garvin’s home on invitation. On arrival, she reportedly found Namono already seated on the bed inside the house.
The sight of Sonia allegedly sparked a quarrel between Namono and the deceased. In the ensuing altercation, Garvin is said to have asked Namono to leave his house. It was at that point that Sonia allegedly saw Namono pull out a sharp object and stab him in the back.
The deceased reportedly raised an alarm, which drew the attention of neighbors. They arrested Namono at the scene before rushing Wanambwa to Mbale Regional Referral Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
Police confirmed that the scene was preserved for documentation, and statements were recorded from eyewitnesses.
The body was taken to Mbale City Mortuary for postmortem before being handed over to the family for burial arrangements, as more investigation continues.
