UCU student has this morning perished in an accident together with his father in Kamonkoli.

Alex Gidudu Khauka (Diploma in Information Technology) and his father both died on spot in an accident that occurred today morning in Kamonkoli as they were traveling to main campus for the graduation. Another UCU student identified as Mukoya Barbra is currently admitted at Mbale Referral hospital in a critical condition

Yesterday, The Butaleja honorable MPS (Hon.Nebanda Florence, Hon.Mutembuli Yusuf, and Hon.Mutiwa Geofrey) held a meeting with the UNRA Executive Director (Ms.Allen Kagina), the Director of Network Planning and Engineering (Eng. Isaac Wani) and the UNRA Eastern Region Manager (Ms.Bennice Kiganda) seeking for an update on the discussions between the Executive Director and Power China International group to prefinance the construction of the above-mentioned road.

In response, the executive director explained as follows;

-Out of the six(6)roads that were to be considered for this prefinancing, the Namutumba-Butaleja-Nabumali road discussions, plans, and financing have progressed the most compared to others

-The negotiations with Power China are in the final stages and procurement has been initiated

-The E.D asked the leaders if they could sensitize the residents and request them to offer their land for the road construction so that the construction can kick off as soon as possible

Today, His Lordship Bishop Paul Ssemogerere will be installed as the 4th Archbishop of Kampala. He replaces Dr.Cyprian Kizito Lwanga and he has been serving as Bishop of Kasana Luwero for the last 13 years.
