A Survey Conduted Show that Hon. Chelangat Alinga Solomon has a Commanding lead in the race for MP T'oo County.

A recent survey conducted by Sebei Nation Intelligence Bureau (SENIB) indicates that the sitting Member of Parliament Hon. Chelangat Alinga Solomon still commands majority support in the race for MP T'oo County in Bukwo District. Hon Solomon Chelangat is leading with 51.3% of the vote placing him well ahead of his closet rival Kiti Peter who follows with 25%. Chemos Job Murefu comes a distant third with 10% whereas Kone Peter is trailing in fourth place with 6% of the support.

Solomon's lead is consistent across the county as suggested by multiple surveys conducted by individuals. Solomon enjoys considerable support in Kortek Sub County, Kabei Sub County, Brim Sub County, Riwo Sub County, Riwo Town Council, Lwongon Sub County. He enjoys a 50% support in kamet Sub County and about 65% in Tulel Sub County. He trails in Chesower Sub County with about 25% of the support. The little support in Chesower Sub County is attributed to the fact that the Sub County is the stronghold for Kiti Peter.

Museveni Summons NRM MPs to State House Amid Speculation Over Agenda

President Museveni, also the National Chairman of the National Resistance Movement (NRM), has summoned the NRM parliamentary caucus to State House this Friday the 7th February 2025.

The meeting, scheduled for 10am at State House Entebbe, has sparked speculation among MPs, who have not been informed of the agenda.

According to a notice issued by Government Chief Whip Denis Hamson Obua, all NRM MPs and independent NRM-leaning MPs are expected to attend.

While the agenda remains unclear, some MPs believe that the meeting may discuss the recent Supreme Court ruling that stripped the powers of the General Court Martial.

Other possible topics of discussion include the progress of Museveni's countrywide tour on the Parish Development Model (PDM). The PDM is a government initiative aimed at promoting economic development and poverty reduction at the parish level.

It is worth noting that Museveni has previously summoned NRM MPs to State House to discuss various issues, including government service delivery and party strategy.

In one such meeting, Museveni emphasised the importance of rationalising government agencies and public expenditure to save trillions of shillings.

*WHY HON. ALINGA SOLOMON WILL BE RE-ELECTED IN 2026*

Did i hear that the same usual subjects are the jokers who will challenge Hon. Solomon in 2026? If we are to go by what us in the political domain in T'oo County, Kiti Peter (The Non Resident), Job Murefu (The Pastor), and Kone Peter (The Weakling) will NEVER defeat Hon.Solomon in 2026 for several key reasons:

1. *Lack of a Unifying Figure amongst the Opponents*
None of these leaders between Kiti, Job and Kone has the County appeal or political dominance to mount a campaign to oust Hon. Solomon. Job Murefu, the most senior among them, has struggled to consolidate support since 2010 when he first ran. He sees himself as the most deserving candidate but he can not even win his backyard.

2. *Clan and Regional Divides*
Our voting patterns since 2001 aren't issue based. In 2026, we will all go back to mobilise our Clans and neighbours. While these politicians represent different regions (Chesower, Tulel, Kabei, and Kortek Sub Counties), they're all politically weak in their respect areas. Their combined support bases do not guarantee countywide appeal. Solomon is now has a stronger grip in Kortek, Kabei, Riwo and has made inroads in Kamet, Tulel, Lwongon and Chesower. Solomon has full support from his clan and the neighbouring Clans unlike other candidates who are even struggling to rally behind their family members.

3. *Disjointed Political Interests*
What interests do Kiti, Job and Kone share in common? What ideological beliefs do they have? These leaders have different ambitions and have not shown a sign of leading. Kiti, in particular is so inexperienced, emotional and driven by the desire to enrich his already wealthy brothers who have no love for the people of T'oo County. Job, the certified confused man will not even speak to himself. He driven by greed and impatience. Popcorn's please.

4. *Solomon's Political Machinery*
Hon.Solomon has a well-oiled campaign strategy, financial resources, and grassroots networks, which helped him win in 2021. He has built tjis networks 2010 since he first ran. His ability to connect with the electorate and manage grassroot politics remains strong. Forget about all the noise, when the campaign bells ring, Solomon's political campaign machinery will double that of 2021.

5. *Clueless and Radarless Opponents*
For Kiti or Job or Kone to succeed, he needs a clear, compelling message that resonates with voters. Without a strong ideological or policy-based campaign, their bid would likely be seen as a usual strategy to enrich themselves at the expense of the welfare of the masses and rather than a movement for change.

6. *The incredible performance of Hon.Solomon in his 1st Term*
Hon. Solomon in the last 3 years of his term has performed incredibly well. In all the four areas of his roles as a Member of Parliament, Solomon will make it hard for the opponents to put him down. Looking at the four key achievements as follows;

Legislation: Hon. Solomon has debated and passed laws that have guided the country's development. There is no doubt about it.

Representation: Hon. Solomon has ably represented his constituents' views in Parliament, he has brought national concerns of the people of T'oo County to the attention of relevant ministers.

Budget Approval: Hon. Solomon has participated in analyzing and approve the national budget for the last 3 financial years. He has advocated for some key projects in his Constituency to be captured in the budgets.

Oversight: Hon. Solomon has monitored and reported on the use of government funds, violations of the rule of law, and unlawful activities. He monitored Emyooga, PDM and even chaired the District Roads Committee to see a proper use of the 1 billion road fund.

7. *Solomon’s Incumbency Advantage*
As the sitting MemberofParliament, Hon. Solomon has access to resources both financial resources and human resources, and the ability to influence political realignments, making him difficult to unseat.

For these reasons ladies and gentlemen, trust me, Solomon's second term is 100% guaranteed. You would be wasting your time voting for Kiti or Job or Kone because we already know their weaknesses. Those shouting on the rooftops about one term MP are in for a rude shock in 2026.

Tomorrow Sunday, January 26, 2025, is the 39th NRM Liberation Day. Liberation Day is to remind us of everyone involved in the hardships, sacrifices, and support from well-wishers across the world for the common cause of our freedom as a country. Uganda has moved from a failed state to now a manageable state.

A number of narratives have been told about the struggle that led to the January 26, 1986 march to Kampala, marking the end of the military Junta of Tito Okello Lutwa and the liberation of Uganda by the NRM. Most narratives however, start with the February 6, 1980 attack on Kabamba military barracks.

However, according to Sebei revolutionaries who fought under FRONASA, the struggle dates back to the early 1970s when students were organized by Dan Wadada Nabudere into study groups which later became rebellious to the then Idi Amin dictatorship.

Chepkongin Ndiwa Chemaswet the chairman of Sebei Historical League, narrated to us the struggle in Sebei and Mt Elgon sub-region and how the area contributed to the struggle.

“In 1966, Sebei teachers training at Kabwangasi and Nyondo Teachers College, under the leadership of Comrade Hon Barteka Sam Sakajja (RIP) introduced progressive politics in Sebei sub-region.

Apart from organizing study groups and distributing revolutionary materials, we also collected used clothes and other materials which were shipped to combatants in Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia.

In 1970, I joined school of Hygiene Mable and for the first time in the history of the schools as a first year, I contested and was elected the President of the School Club. My government introduced many reforms to the constitution that included opening space for other literature apart from the traditional medical magazine. We continued to work very closely with Comrades Nabudere Dan, Chango Macho, Magode Ikuya , Edward Rugumayo, Omony Ojok, Yash Tandon and Capt. Natolo Masaba.

In 1971, Obote was overthrown by Idi Amin. Myself, Maumbe Mukwana and others from Elgon and Bukedi Regions moved to Nachingewya Gorilla training Camp in Tanzania under FRELIMO command in 1972. We visited Northern Mozambique before returning to Dar-es-Salaam to be briefed by President Samora Macheal, Kamuron Peter, Solimo Sabila, Cherkut Yeko, Chepkwutwo Ndiwa, Mella John. The next day we moved to Bukoba to join the FRONASA struggle.

At Bukoba we met combatants of Kikosi Malum and our commander Yoweri K Museveni and others. Tanzania Security Forces rounded us up and moved us to Tabora to be registered as refugees. While in Tabora Police Station, led by Museveni, we refused the idea of becoming refugees while Kikosi Malum accepted to be registered as refugees. We decided that Museveni sneaks out of the police station to communicate with the prime minister. Museveni stepped on my shoulder and jumped over the wall.

He later returned with a message, and we were allowed to move to Dar-es- Salaam and booked in different hotels. We were given two weeks to leave Tanzania. I led a group of four through Lunga Lunga, Kwale, Mombasa, Nairobi, Malaba and eventually to Kampala, where we were received by Eria Kategaya (RIP). In a meeting at Zubairi Bakari’s house, we resolved to go back to our regions to carry out recruitment for training in Uganda. The recruitment in Sebei was easy because of the existing study groups we had established. I went with Comrade Rwaheru upto Kaptum where we recruited three comrades Henry Musobo, William Kapnakan Bukose Ngeywo (RIP) and William Twoyem Namakasa (RIP), who joined Bunya Forest Training Camp in Mayuge.
The information about the training camp at Nunya leaked to Idi Amin’s forces and the camp was attacked. Maumbe Mukwana assisted the trainees to escape to Busiu in Mbale. It was while at Busiu that we heard about the attack on Comrade Museveni and others at House 49 in Maluku Estates, Maumbe’s home.

At the same time, seven Comrades who escaped from Bunya Forest in South Busoga and had been rescued by Comrade Maumbe, on their way to Bududa were arrested and taken to the Military Police barracks in Mbale. They were later driven 16kms on the Mbale-Pallisa road with their hands and legs tied, run over by military vehicle. Three survived while the other four died.

The three survivors were later arrested again and taken to Makindye Militray headquarters in Kampala but fortunately they were later released.
On the day of the attack at House 49, Comrade Maumbe with Comrade William Bukose Kapnakan (RIP) were in Bunginyanya on their way to Maluku when they received news that Maumbe’s house was under attack. Maumbe was driving a lorry belonging to Comrade Masaba which they abandoned at Nkoma, following an exchange of bullets with soldiers that had mounted a roadblock. Two soldiers were killed in the exchange. Later Masaba was arrested and taken to Makindye where he was killed.

Maumbe escaped through Mt Elgon to Kenya while Bukose hid at his father’s home at Namusi. He later came to Ngenge where he joined home guard (police truck force) in 1974, a strategic position in which he served until the collapse of Idi Amin’s regime. He continued to serve in police until 1981 when we re-engaged him into NRM/NRM Elgon operations in Sebei Sub-region.

Bukose later served as the chairman of the Resistance Committee in unliberated zone of Sebei until 2014 when he was knocked dead by a speeding UPDF lorry without lights that was part of the 1st Lady Janet Museveni’s convoy at Chepterer-Ngenge in Kween District. The UPDF has since promised to compensate the fallen comrade but to date nothing has been done.
During the struggle, new routes for communication were set up to supplement the Lwakhakha and Malaba routes. The new routes created included Kanyerusi-Kapenguria-Kitale, Amudat-Kapenguria-Kitale. At Amudat, I set up a sub-post office to facilitate movement of mail like TANU youth league cards in and outside Uganda. These study groups were established in Amudat and Kanyerusi.

Several study groups were established in the above strategic routes, Mbale being central point. Meanwhile, Chango Macho, Magode Ikuya supported by Capt Pipino Okello (RIP) from Kaberamaido and Col Bosco Omure came in to recruit students in Mbale Secondary School to advance FRONASA and study groups.
Students were also recruited for intelligence missions, hiding military equipment and politicians victimized by Amin’s regime. They also acted as guides to FRONASA external wing fighters. Some of the students included Comrades Charles K***a (former RDC Amuria) and Kurong Abdalla, both then students in Mbale Senior Secondary School.
The clandestine work continued until Idi Amin was overthrown by Uganda National Liberation Forces combined with Tanzanian Peoples Defense Force army on 11th April 1979.

The Uganda National Liberation Front administration took charge of the country with several challenges. The overthrow of Godfrey Binaisa ushered in new challenges. One such challenge was the disarmament of militia. Disarmament in Sebei Sub-region meant undermining security of the sub-region.

The disarmament of was spearheaded by UPC in Sebei but targeted the revolution. We resisted the move by UPC and we began an armed struggle. We began by attacking police stations of Bukwo and Kapchorwa where we acquired several rifles and bullets. We set up bases at Kokoyong and Benet.
I also linked up with officials in Kenya President Daniel Arap Moi’s government, who supplied us with explosives, boots and other material through a special branch officer - which we continued to use to confront the Uganda Defense between 1980 to 1983.

In 1983, I was arrested in Kenya and brought back to Uganda where I was detained at Upper Luzira prison up to 1986 when Ruhakana Rugunda intervened. Prior to my arrest, we had encouraged Bartile Johnson Toskin (RIP) to contest as MP under UPM and he was rigged out of elections for allegedly not having qualifications.
Politically we were left to support DP candidate Charles Cherop who won the elections against Sam Sakajja Barteka who was instead declared the winner.

Despite my absence and that of Peter Kamuron, Sabila Solimo and Yeko Cherukut, revolutionary work continued in Sebei under the coordination of Bartile Toskin and comrades K***a. Chemandwa John, Chepkurkat Labu, Tegeza William took over the leadership of the revolution, making linkages with Mbale and Kenya.

These comrades did commendable work, advancing the revolution to its logical conclusion. The main groups operating in Sebei were UNLF-Anti Dictatorship (UNLF-AD) and NRM/NRA Elgon 13, who were later joined by UFM and FEDEMU. Sebei Sub-region remained liberated after the fall of Lutwa.”

Mr. Kiti Peter Contemplating Withdrawal from the MP race for T'oo County in Bukwo District.

It is now emerging that the Former Nurse at Kaproron HC IV Mr. Kiti Peter has met his family and commanders to tender his withdrawal from the MP race for T'oo County with immediate effect.

According to sources very close to Mr. Kiti Peter and a culmination of a series of night meetings going on in Kapchorwa and Chesower, Kiti feels NOT comfortable running for the MP race in the next general elections and he is now requesting his family and commanders to withdraw from the race.

The plans to withdraw are in top gear and the NEXT step is to make a public pronouncement on radio scheduled for later this month. The anticipated withdrawal from the MP race by Kiti Peter is attributed to a number of factors among which include but not limited to;

1. Reduced sources of funding. Unlike 2021 where kitti had the support of all his wealthy brothers, the same is not for 2026. All his brothers have withdrawn support with only Nelson Arapsorowen remaining. All the other brothers of kiti are all skeptical of spending money again in 2026 and they loose. Arapsorowen remains the only funder of Kiti Peter because he is the one who took over the businesses of Kiti such as Rock Clinic.

2. Completing his Studies in Kenya. Kitti being a certificate Nurse needed to further his studies to obtain a Diploma. Last year 2024, he enrolled at one Kenya's Medical Training Colleges. With studies on his table, he cannot be able to mount a campaign since his studies are taking much of his time and resources.

3. His wife is not in support of his candidature. Its on public domain that Kiti has no home in T'oo County but he wants to force himself on the people of T'oo County. His wife is not an exception. Kiti has gone ahead to force his wife to leave a permanent structure in Barawa Kapchorwa and come to live in a 2 Roomed mud house in chesower which he constructed to hoodwink T'oo County residents. Kiti's wife has refused to come to Chesower. She doesn't understand why she is being told to leave her posh house in Barawa Kapchorwa and come and stay in a 2 Roomed mud house in Kamuchan Chesower.

4. The rising popularity of Hon. Kone Peter. Initially Kiti had the belief that he Will scoop the entire votes of greater Chesower. Kiti underestimated the strength of Kone Peter and his food security campaign. Kone has gained popularity and he is like to win in the Sub Counties of Tulel and Kamet.

Why and How Alinga Solomon will be re-elected in 2026 against all hurdles

Since 2021, it's clear that T'oo County cannot be transformed by populist politics. It requires leaders with capacity and courage to push for progressive policies that will better the lives of the people.

Hon. Solomon has proven beyond reasonable doubt that he can do it and see that T'oo County is on the move. He has been in power barely three years and during that short period.

10. Under financial inclusion, Hon. Solomon has supported organised vibrant Women and Youth groups across the county for example Chesimat PAG Growers Association. He has supported most groups with a revolving fund of between 500K to 1M and he intends to do more for as long as a group is organised and doing something.

11. Hon. Solomon has supported the purchase of land and construction of Brim Health Centre in Brim Sub County.

12. Kortek Heath Centre, Chesimat Health Centre and Kapses Health Centre in Kortek Sub County have all be build and expanded with support from Hon. Solomon. Initially this were just campaign promised but Hon. Solomon is boldly doing it.

17. Kapware Primary School is now fully licensed by the Ministry of Education and Sports after the tireless efforts of Hon. Solomon.

18. Hon. Solomon had contributed immensely towards the restoration of peace in the lower belt. He had called for and chaired several security meetings between Karamoja and Pokot MPs to pacify the lower belt.

19. Hon. Solomon has continued to support the church by building the house of the lord. He has contributed to the construction of many houses of the Lord across the county.

20. Construction of Riwo Seed Secondary School. After several engagements with the Ministry of Education officials and Ministry of Finance officials, plus leadership in Parliament. Riwo SS is now in the list of Seed Schools to be constructed this year 2025.

As long as we are persistence in our pursuit of our deepest destiny, we will continue to grow. We cannot choose the day or time when we will fully bloom. It happens in its own time.

A three-year-old male giant otter named Manu has traveled from Hungary's Budapest Zoo, to Chester Zoo in the United Kingdom, in the hope of hitting it off with a female otter there. To help save the species from extinction, zookeepers from both sides have been carefully planning this matchmaking trip, with Manu being chosen as an ideal genetic match for eight-year-old Tibiri.

This highly endangered species is an apex predator that plays a crucial role in maintaining the balance of freshwater habitats in South America. Experts estimate that fewer than 5,000 giant otters remain on the continent.

But the good news is that the otters were seen swimming and playing together when they met for the very first time, with photographers capturing some heartwarming moments.
