Busiro East MP Medard Lubega Sseggona has strongly countered the ethnically charged rhetoric recently expressed by former Lubaga North MP Moses Kasibante. Kasibante had launched a scathing critique targeting non-Baganda individuals contesting for parliamentary seats in the Buganda region—specifically naming NUP Secretary General David Lewis Lubongoya, who hails from Bunyoro, and Alex Waiswa Mufumbiro, a native of Busoga.

Appearing on BBS Terefayina’s political talk show, Sseggona rejected Kasibante’s ethnic arguments, urging the public to assess candidates based on their competence and potential rather than their ethnic background.
