You've been job hunting for months since graduation…?
The longer it goes on, the more it feels like "Graduation = unemployment."

You get anxious. You start to doubt yourself. And ask yourself questions, "Am I really not good enough?" “Do I need connections?”

No! It's not about your ability.
If you already have a LinkedIn account, a working email, a CV etc… it means you're taking action.
It means you're resourceful.

The problem is, there are many people just like you.
And interviewers will only pick the one who stands out.

So, how do you become that person?

1. Tailor your resume - Cut out what's irrelevant. Keep only what's valuable for the role.

2 Prepare for interviews smartly — Don't memorize scripts. Focus on key points and examples.

3 Show proof of skills - Bring a portfolio, project results, or even a short case study to back up your claims.

4. Network actively - Comment on posts, message alumni, join relevant groups. Opportunities often come through people, not job ads.

5 Follow up - A thoughtful “thank-you” message after an interview can make you memorable.

You're not "less than." You're just one step away from being noticed. Keep going, because your interview is coming. Your offer is coming. Your new job is coming.

When Joseph Wole Lotua and his family were first introduced to many of us, it was through vlogs of scandalous acts and accusations…! Very grave and serious accusations! Many of us, including myself have never known or met him. So we started the digital search, looking for any information to corroborate or contradict those claims, but there was very little information! I’m one of those who asked that the family should come out and clarify these claims…

You see, in today’s digitally controlled world, digital presence is as important as physical presence! A few people came out in defense of the Lotua family, but only because they had direct experience with that family! Majority of the masses were inclined to question their credibility, in an absence of a proper clarification…!

What does this tell you?
Presence is POWER. Silence is BURIAL.

I am glad Mr. Lotua has taken the step to start building a digital presence! Building and protecting your brand is not only important but very necessary.

A lost reputation is too difficult to rebuild! It is imperative that we all protect our reputation as much as we protect our “side-relationships😉” from being trampled on!

I don’t know if the Lotua family is guilty as accused, or if they plan to take any steps against the accusations, but at least they are taking steps, not only to own the narrative, but to recreate it. With consistency and good PR, they will create the balance needed.
In a world of constant noise, consistency is everything.

TO ALL HIRING MANAGERS,

Please don't leave your job applicants hanging in silence. If they are not selected, just let them know.

Job seekers spend hours preparing resumes, tailoring cover letters, studying company profiles, and giving their 100% in interviews. Not just for a job-but for a hope.

And when there's no reply... The silence hurts more than a rejection ever could.
They follow up on Linkedin, send polite emails, and wait for days... sometimes weeks.

All they seek is closure-so they can move forward.
A simple "We've moved ahead with other candidates" email may take you 10 seconds...

But for job seekers, it brings clarity, peace, and the strength to try again.

Let's normalize rejection emails. Let's bring back basic empathy in hiring.
Because candidates don't need endless hope. They just need honest answers.

To every recruiter, hiring manager, and HR professional-this is not a complaint.
It's a humble request to build a better hiring culture.

HOW TO WRITE A JOB APPLICATION EMAIL!

When applying for job via email, the crafting of your email matters a lot, it’s what gives first impressions and what to expect from your document! You should never send your CV alone without composing a proper email. Here's an example:

To: [Email address of the company you're applying to]
Subject: APPLICATION FOR THE POSITION OF [POSITION TITLE]

Email Body:

Dear [Employer/HR Manager],

I am writing to express my interest in the position of [Position Title] as advertised recently. My qualifications, skills, and experience align closely with your requirements for this role.

This style of reporting is meant to disgrace South Sudan, not to inform the public…! Capital FM Uganda, your choice of words is very intentionally malicious and misleading…!

Israel has announced it will provide emergency humanitarian assistance to South Sudan, one of the world’s poorest countries currently facing renewed political instability and violence.

The aid package will include food, medical supplies, and other essentials to support communities affected by the ongoing crisis. South Sudan continues to grapple with conflict, hunger, and economic hardship since gaining independence in 2011. Israel says the relief is part of its global humanitarian commitments.
