The Faculty of Health Sciences at Mountains of the Moon University (MMU) recently hosted a transformative one-week project writing workshop in partnership with University College Leuven (UCL) and several international institutions from Belgium, Uganda, and South Africa.

Held from October 27–31, 2025, at Lisieux Guest Centre, Fort Portal, the workshop joined together partakers from KU Leuven, Odisee University of Applied Sciences, Thomas More University of Applied Sciences, Lucas School of Arts, Greenside Design Centre, Makerere University Business School, Muni University, Mutesa I Royal University, Lyfex Africa| Nourishing Lives, Empowering Communities.and Mountains of the Moon University.

Facilitated by experts from KU Leuven with experience in VLIRUOS projects, the engagement focused on building proposal development skills, nurturing teamwork, and strengthening cross-continental research partnerships.

Representing the Vice Chancellor, Prof. John M. Kasenene, hailed the initiative as a breakthrough in MMU’s global research engagement, while Dr. Emmanuel Kimera, Dean of the Faculty, emphasized the power of collaboration in creating impactful, community-driven research.

More than just a workshop, this was a space of co-creation and innovation where diverse minds came together to design projects that advance the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and shape a more equitable research future.

Mountains of the Moon University today held a one-day Programme Budgeting System (PBS) training workshop at Block C, Main Hall.

✅ Participants included Cost Centre Managers, Budget Focal Persons, Procurement, Finance & ICT staff, plus Ministry of Finance officials.
✅ Goal: Improve budget ownership, accuracy, and efficiency in line with the Public Finance Management Act (2015).

Prof. Edmond Kagambe, DVC Finance & Administration, noted: “This training is a core intervention to strengthen our systems in our 4th year as a public university.”

Mountains of the Moon University has officially sworn in its newly appointed University Contracts Committee, a key step in strengthening procurement and contract management processes.

The oath was administered by His Worship Nsibambi Lwanga at the Vice Chancellor’s Boardroom on August 15th, 2025.

The five-member committee is chaired by Dr. John Rwakihembo, with members Wilson Kwikiriza, Yusuf Karwani, Jane Nakajubi, and Ronald Kawalya. Together, they pledged to serve with integrity, professionalism, and accountability.

This development reaffirms MMU’s commitment to transparency, good governance, and strong financial management. 🌍📑

Today, August 14, 2025, Mountains of the Moon University held a successful all-staff meeting at the Block B parking lot, bringing together academic, administrative, and support staff from across the university. 🙌

The meeting was led by Vice Chancellor Prof. Pius Coxwell Achanga and Deputy Vice Chancellor Assoc. Prof. Kagambe Edmond, who both emphasized institutional values, performance, and strategic priorities.
