The Faculty of Health Sciences at Mountains of the Moon University (MMU) recently hosted a transformative one-week project writing workshop in partnership with University College Leuven (UCL) and several international institutions from Belgium, Uganda, and South Africa.
Held from October 27–31, 2025, at Lisieux Guest Centre, Fort Portal, the workshop joined together partakers from KU Leuven, Odisee University of Applied Sciences, Thomas More University of Applied Sciences, Lucas School of Arts, Greenside Design Centre, Makerere University Business School, Muni University, Mutesa I Royal University, Lyfex Africa| Nourishing Lives, Empowering Communities.and Mountains of the Moon University.
Facilitated by experts from KU Leuven with experience in VLIRUOS projects, the engagement focused on building proposal development skills, nurturing teamwork, and strengthening cross-continental research partnerships.
Representing the Vice Chancellor, Prof. John M. Kasenene, hailed the initiative as a breakthrough in MMU’s global research engagement, while Dr. Emmanuel Kimera, Dean of the Faculty, emphasized the power of collaboration in creating impactful, community-driven research.
More than just a workshop, this was a space of co-creation and innovation where diverse minds came together to design projects that advance the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and shape a more equitable research future.
