THE BIOGRAPHY OF KIGAMBO MOSES ARAALI

Kigambo Araali Moses was born on 1st March 1977 in Kyenjojo Nyakabara Kijuma Ward, Kyenjojo Town Council Mwenge South Kyenjojo District Western Uganda, married with four children, (first born a daughter is pursuing civil engineering at Kampala International University, second-born a son is in senior 3 at St Lucia High School, third born a son is senior 2 at Royal College Namugongo and fourth born is in primary six at Golden Star School, Fort Portal). Kigambo Araali is a Mutooro of Abasiita Clan, Totem Obusito, a Ugandan by nationality and speaks and writes excellently Runyoro Rutooro and fairly English, Luganda and Swahili.
Education and Pieces of training:
Attained PLE certificate at Nyantungo Primary School in 1992 and he did not continue with formal education only attended vocational and skills training courses in motorcycle and motor vehicle mechanics and entrepreneurship.
Art Discipline and Professional Experience;
Kigambo Araali is a professional artist in the discipline of music with Folk-Pop and Fusion styles and full time employed in the music industry started far back in 2002 with several music albums include;

2. 2005 Twekobe Let us come together was the album focusing on political problems in the country with a popular song Ekitukufeera (what we are struggling for).
3. 2007 Ekirale The legacy is the popular song on this album which talks about the legacy of an individual, opinion leader and political leader
4. 2009 Otalyebw’omuka Never forget home is the title track calling upon the communities to come back home
5. 2012 Ekibiri Kinu Never trust your body because it can let you down any time.
6. 2015 Ekacoliikwa Kara Ekacoliikwa Kara literally meaning naturally designed and gifted by nature in reference to the abundant tourism features and economic potential of the Tooro sub-region.
7. 2017 Tooro K’okasemera The beauty of Tooro, the pearl of Africa
Based in Fort Portal with a catchment area of Western Uganda. He is currently Talents Development Director of Engabu za Tooro (Tooro Youth Platform for Action) a 17 years old Cultural NGO based on the theme of Culture and Development and accredited to offer advisory services to UNESCO – ICH Convention.
Prior to this, in the same organization, he had served as a Cultural Troupe Manager and Talent Development Officer. The troupe made the key achievements with Kigambo Araali as one of the performers and part of management as follow;
In 2004, the troupe emerged the 4th in National Music Dance and Drama competition organized by Uganda Development Theatre Association (UDTA).
In 2005, the Cultural Troupe hosted German Big Band Orchestra in Fort Portal in a German – Uganda cultural exchange program funded by German Embassy in Kampala.
The Cultural Troupe pioneered the practice of weekly community theatre which has been adopted and promoted widely in the western region.
Kigambo Araali has produced and launched seven music albums and has won awards and accolades as follows;
1. Pearl of Africa Music Awards “Best Cultural Artiste of the Year 2007”.
2. Pearl of Africa Music Awards “Best Western Artiste of the Year 2008”.
3. East Africa KISIMA Music Award from Nairobi Kenya 2008 (Best Video Uganda).
4. Rotary International Vocational Award of distinguished success for integrating development themes in the entertainment industry presented by Rotary District 9200 Rotarian Christopher Mutalya 2009.
5. Tooro eyanyenkya hati Gold Medal presented by Brig. Gen. Ronnie Balya 2015.
6. The Uganda Music Award (TUMA Award) “Best Regional Artist 2017 Western”
7. Media Practitioner Award presented by the Rt. Rev. Robert K Muhiirwa the Bishop of Fort Portal Diocese 2018.
8. Bunyoro Kitara Basiita Clan Appreciation souvenir presented by George William Kasangaki Bishop Masindi Kitara
