🎤 Museveni to Empower MCs and Panelists.

📌Mr. Kasigazi Williams Donanto, the Resident District Commissioner (RDC) of Bushenyi District, has called upon the Masters of Ceremonies and radio panelists to support President Yoweri Museveni in the upcoming 2026 general elections.

📌According to Kasigazi, who also serves as the Regional Supervisor of the Masters of Ceremonies and Radio Panelists Empowerment Program, President Museveni is considering providing funding to empower these professionals, enabling them to engage in income-generating projects of their choice.

📌The RDC made these remarks during a training program for members of the Masters of Ceremonies and Panelists Association in the Tooro sub-region, which was held at Lily's Paradise in Fort Portal yesterday.

📌Kasigazi commended Faruk Kirunda, the deputy press secretary to the president, for advising President Museveni to initiate a fund to support the Master of Ceremonies.

📌Asaba Frank, the Assistant RDC of Kabarole, praised President Museveni for launching various programs such as the Parish Development Model (PDM) and others aimed at economically empowering citizens. He urged Ugandans to rally behind Museveni.

📌Kato Tom, a historical cadre and the vice chairperson of the NRM in Fort Portal City, encouraged members of the association to promote the positive ideologies and achievements of the NRM, highlighting that opposition members often mislead the public.

🤝 Teachers, Public Sector Workers Petition Parliament over Salary Disparities.

📌The Uganda National Teachers' Union (UNATU) has submitted a petition to the Speaker of Parliament, Anita Among, regarding discriminatory salary increases in the teaching profession.

📌Filbert Baguma, the UNATU Secretary General, emphasized the necessity for equity in teacher salaries to preserve the quality of education and safeguard the future of millions of learners.

📌The petition, presented to the Speaker on Wednesday, highlights the urgent need for a fair and equitable salary structure for teachers. Baguma pointed out that the existing disparities in salaries have caused widespread dissatisfaction among teachers, leading the union to seek action from Parliament.

📌Additionally, the petition is not exclusive to teachers; other public sector workers, including the Local Government Workers Union, have also voiced their grievances to the Speaker.

⚠ Mukidi Fears for Her Life After a Home Invasion.

Mukidi Judith, a former aspirant for the woman MP seat in Fort Portal City, is fearing for her life after unknown individuals broke into her home. They left a machete in her sitting room and took her underwear (nickers).

On a fateful Friday night when she was away, the intruders, with unclear intentions, broke into her home in Nyabukara. They forced open her master bedroom door, entered her bathroom, shaved their private parts, and left their hair and razor behind. They also took all her underwear and left a large, sharp knife in her sitting room before fleeing.

To avoid detection, the attackers first switched off the meter box to cut the electricity and tampered with the security cameras. Mukidi believes this incident is connected to previous events around the time of the NRM primaries when unknown items were placed in her vehicle, which later got into an accident that claimed several lives.

She suspects that this is a political ploy aimed at scaring her away from contesting again. Furthermore, all her bags containing important papers were disorganized, leading her to believe that the intruders intended to steal her nomination forms, which were not in the house at the time.

Mukidi has filed a burglary case at Fort Portal Central Police Station, with file number SD: 49/6/10/2025. By the time of this report, forensic police were already at the scene to gather more evidence.
