Ojara Martin Mapenduzi declared the winner of the NRM primary election in Berdege Layibi division Gulu City .

The incumbent MP won with 4,102 votes beating his closest contender Bosmic Joyce Otim, who garnered 1,900 votes.

: Supporters of Alima Joyce Reni reportedly and prematurely claimed victory, despite her counterpart Laker Jolly Grace allegedly receiving more votes.

The two are contending to hold the NRM flag in the forthcoming 2026 general election to represent the people of Bardege Layibi Division.
