IGANGA LCV CHAIRPERSON MEETS HEALTH CENTRE HEADS IN LANDMARK SERVICE DELIVERY SESSION
Iganga District LCV Governor Shabiru Isabirye Kalulu today convened a historic meeting with all heads of health centres in the district, alongside DHO, Dr. Kitimbo and Minister for Social Services who also serves as Women District Councillor for Namungalwe Town Council Hon. Nalule Jamawa.
Held in the Works Board Room, the gathering focused on improving service delivery at health facilities and strengthening supervision across Iganga. In only his third month in office, Governor Kalulu stressed that he intends to lead the district as a united team and will leave no one behind.
He invited the health centre heads to openly share their challenges and concerns so that these can be tabled before the District Council for practical solutions. Several issues were documented and will be presented to Council to drive positive change for the people of Iganga.
The Governor outlined key development priorities already underway, including:A modern maternity ward for Namungalwe Health Centre III,A modern dental unit and CT-scan facility for Nakavule Hospital.
Ongoing efforts that will see the upgrading of selected health centres to ease pressure on Nakavule Hospital.
He further advised the health teams to elect two additional supervisors among themselves to strengthen monitoring and ensure faster information flow, which will help raise health standards across communities. Governor Kalulu also announced that his personal monitoring visits will no longer be limited to Nakavule but will extend to every health centre in the district.
Dr. Kitimbo praised the Governor’s new approach, describing the meeting as one of its kind in the district and a clear demonstration of commitment to better service delivery.
This collaborative engagement marks a strong step toward accountable, people-centred healthcare for the residents of Iganga.
