87.7 BABA FM 87.7 Basoga Baino (BABAFM) is a regional radio station, owned by Busoga kingdom. It's a sister station to BABA TV.

Basoga Baino FM (BABA FM) is a radio station broadcasting on 87.7. It was set up by the Busoga Kingdom to address issues of ordinary people living in Busoga region and its surrounding districts through Entertainment, Mobilisation, Education and Effective communication programming. It broadcasts in 3 languages mainly; Lusoga, Luganda and English.

Multitudes turned up at Kivubuka Playground in Jinja Northern Division for a grand thanksgiving and Swengere Festival organized by the Jinja North MP, Hon. Muyonjo Hussein Swengere Everywhere.

The Chief guest was the Prime Minister of Busoga Kingdom Dr. Joseph Muvawala, who lauded Hon. Muyonjo for his efforts and for effectively representing the interests of his constituents. He added that it's the first event he attended where NRM and opposition MPs showed unity!

Representing the NUP President, Robert Kyagulanyi, was the Acting NUP President and MP for Manjiya County, Hon. John Baptist Nambeshe who thanked the people of Jinja North for entrusting “Swengere” with the parliamentary seat and urged them to continue supporting the party’s agenda.

Also in attendance were several MPs and political leaders including: Hon. Paul Sserukenya (Makindye East MP), Hon. Paul Mwiru (Opposition Whip & Jinja City SouthEast, Hon. Nalukoola Luyimbazi (Kawempe North MP ), Hon. Kiza Hakim (Bukoto East), Hon. Andrew Kaluuya (Kigulu South), Hon. Sarah Hassan Namulondo (Buyende Woman MP), Hon. Mathias Bazanya (Bugabula South), Hon. Nkeretanyi Yusuf (Kalungu East), Hon. Stella Maris Nankwanga (Bugweri Women MP), and Hon. Mariam Seif (Iganga Woman MP), Hon. Abed Nasser Mudiobole (Iganga Municipality MP), Hon. Stephen Kisa (Luuka South MP), Hon. Sarah Lwansasula (Jinja City Woman MP), Hon. Annet Nabirye (Luuka District MP), Hon. George Patrick Kasajja (Bulamogi North West), Hon. Kungu Simion (Kigulu North), Hon. Kiirya Wanzala (Butembe), Hon. Odwori John (Kagoma North), and Hon. Jamal Mukuve of Bukoli North in Bugiri District.

Local leaders present included Bugweri LC5 Chairperson Hamidu Kimaka, FDC Jinja City Chairperson Oryawo Richard, and NUP Jinja City Chairperson Meddy Mutebi.

Speaking at the event, the Chairperson of the Busoga Parliamentary Caucus and MP for Luuka South, Hon. Stephen Kisa, called for unity among Busoga MPs to front a common development agenda for the region.

In his remarks, the host MP, Hon. Muyonjo Hussein, highlighted some of the key issues he has championed in his first three months in Parliament. He pledged to continue working on service delivery, youth empowerment, and infrastructure for the people of Jinja North.

Spiritual leaders also led prayers for peace and development in Jinja City and Busoga Sub-region.

The Swengere Festival ended with music, performances, and calls for unity from both political and traditional leaders.

Hon. Swengere Everywhere unveiled a water tanker truck as part of his efforts to address water scarcity in his constituency.
He said the truck will deliver clean water free of charge to households whenever water shortages arise and will also support communities during burials and other public events.

Jinja North MP Hon. Hussein Muyonjo Swengere Everywhere has renovated a classroom block at Kivubuka Primary School in honour of Busoga Kingdom Katuukiro, Owek. Dr. Joseph Muvawala, who attended the school for his primary education, and equipped the staff room with furniture plus a 42-inch television set to enable teachers to follow his proceedings in Parliament.

Uganda Police Force have arrested 2 suspects in the murder of SC Villa Captain Owor David, who was robbed of an iPhone 14 Pro Max and killed by thugs.
The phone was tracked and led officers to two suspects: Munyaneza Bashir alias ‘Jemo’, a suspected dealer in stolen mobile phones, and his associate Magoba Samuel.

Police have also recovered 4 bags of suspected stolen phones including: 80 iPhones, 40 Samsung phones, 8 Redmi phones, 2 Tecno phones, 2 Infinix phones, 2 Vivo phones, 3 button phones, 4 motherboards, 3 iPads, SIM cards (MTN, Safaricom, Airtel, Lyca), ladies’ bags etc

The Swengere Festival is on tomorrow.
Unlike other festivals, it's organized by the Jinja North MP Hon Muyonjo Hussein, as a thanksgiving ceremony to thank God, his party, family, workmates, colleagues, friends and the people of Jinja North for the overwhelming support they gave him to become a legislator on behalf of Jinja Northern Division.

Busoga Kingdom and UNICEF Uganda have today signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at Igenge Palace, Bugembe.

The partnership formalizes collaboration to support the 2.27 million children in the Busoga region. It aims to help every child survive, thrive, and reach their potential, combining UNICEF’s technical expertise with the Kingdom’s cultural leadership, community networks, and trusted local reach (through the Kyabazinga Initiative under His Majesty the Kyabazinga of Busoga, William Gabula Nadiope IV).

The focuses on;
❤️ Health & growth
📚 Quality education
🛡️ Protection from violence & exploitation
🗣️ A stronger movement for child rights

Alongside the signing, UNICEF handed over tools of work and materials to support the activities of the Kyabazinga Initiative and strengthen community development partnerships.
