🟡Drama in Kabale: Minister Bahati Accused of Disguising Himself as NRM Flag Bearer to Confuse Voters in Ndorwa West

Fresh controversy has erupted in Ndorwa West after Minister David Bahati, who lost the NRM primaries to Counsel Eliab Naturinda, stormed the campaign trail as an independent — but with a full display of NRM yellow colors and posters featuring President Yoweri Museveni’s image.

In the photo taken on the campaign trail, a group of supporters dressed in bright yellow outfits are seen holding large posters bearing Bahati’s image alongside that of the President. The posters visibly resemble official NRM campaign materials, a move critics say is “intentionally designed to confuse voters.”

Residents report that many villagers now assume Bahati is still the official NRM candidate, despite the party declaring Naturinda the rightful flag bearer

Minister David Bahati has finally been kicked out as NRM District Chairperson after defying the party and refusing to hand over the office.

Bahati, who has served as Ndorwa West MP since 2006, lost the NRM primaries to Counsel Eliab Naturinda — but still chose to run as an independent, sparking tension within the ruling party.

The NRM has now replaced him with his deputy, Bridget Asinga, officially confirmed by Amos Rwansheija, the district’s Administrative Secretary.

Minister Bahati has also been warned against using NRM symbols, colors, or President Museveni’s image in his campaigns — privileges reserved only for official party flag bearers.
