On 14th January, 2021, he was elected President of Uganda. A group of people who believe they have divine right to rule over Uganda usurped the will of the people using the gun. The most important and urgent assignment we have as a nation and as generation is to suppress the gun and restore the rule by the people. That is the only and the best inheritance we can give to our children and our grand children. That is the most important legacy we can leave behind.

Hundreds of our supporters are languishing in prison for over a year. Some have been tortured to permanent deformity. Others have been murdered in cold blood. Their crime? Putting on a red beret which Museveni claimed was military attire!

Now, this is how Museveni's son responds to citizens' demands that his friend Mwenda is held to account for wearing a full military combat in full view of cameras. With utmost impunity, he dismisses the demands and praises his friend for donning the military attire in what he calls adoration of the army! With this tweet, he closes the case. No government entity will dare speak about it again. Muhoozi is simply saying, "I am the state, the state is me."

The fate of all despots who have behaved in this barbaric manner is well known. Sadly, none of them ever learns from the fate of those before!

I am thankful that they are piling up the evidence of their impunity. Time will tell. The people of Uganda will have the final say.

I fail to understand the fuss about Paul Mubiru vending nseenene on a Uganda Airlines flight to Dubai. All airlines vend lots of things in-flight. I have witnessed passengers doing forex exchange transactions on board many times. It’s common to see passengers carry their own food onto the plane - which is cleared by the ground crew. Travelers on buses always vend food and other items. If the carrier disapproves of vending they should simply state so - otherwise those who bought the insects appreciate their taste. Mubiru could be adept at salesmanship. No need to stir up a storm in a tea cup. CPM
