Today at the nup headquarters, the sectary general David Lewis Rubongoya together with other leaders at National Unity Platform have hold a meeting to settle disputes between the two aspirants of the woman member of parliament Kampala. Shamim Malende and Rt. Rt Hon Zahrah Luyirika. The meeting was to ensure there's displine and humanity in the campaigns from both teams. Was it right to call for this meeting??? What do u think??

"The Party, having taken note of the toxic environment in the Kampala Woman MP race, has convened a meeting this morning to emphasise the need for discipline during this process. Candidates Hon. Shamim Malende and Hon. Zahara Luyirika have been tasked to commit to a respectful campaign, devoid of smear campaigns and blackmail. We urge their supporters to also adhere to our very first party value: DISCIPLINE.

The Election Management Committee has warned that if the indiscipline persists, it will invoke its power to disqualify any candidate found culpable. This warning has also been extended to all other candidates who are issuing threats and insults against their competitors, or on behalf of other candidates.

We are grateful to these comrades for agreeing to abide by the Dos and Donts laid down and hope to see sanity moving forward!"

Eng. Dr. Balimwezo Ronald Nsubuga has today been vetted by the Election Management Committee (EMC) at the headquarters of the National Unity Platform (NUP) as part of the party’s nomination process for the Lord Mayor position.
Speaking after the vetting, Eng. Dr. Balimwezo expressed his confidence in his ability to lead Kampala City, citing his vast experience and technical expertise.
