With the support of USAID and tax compliance from property owners, the city of Fort Portal is making significant progress, according to Mayor Asaba Edison Ruyonga.
"As of the last financial year, Fort Portal came third in revenue collection in the whole country,, beating many local governments and cities" he added
He encouraged continued collaboration for a better future.
Property owners advocated for increased engagement in the tax collection process to address misunderstandings.
This was at a civic event organised by @ripplenamiuganda and supported by USAID, aimed to enhance communication between property owners and tax authorities.
